Best workarounds for Track Send / Bus capability in T1?

Hello all,
I am exploring the use of Tracktion as a simple audio mixdown environment. Input will be audio from Ableton Live via rewire.
In Live, I typically define 4 mixer sends per track for global VST reverbs, delays, etc. However, I need PDC in some cases, and the metering in Live is not really ideal.
I understand that Tracktion doesn't have a Mixer per se, but it seems that I should be able to do this type of routing somehow using racks, eXT, etc.
Can anyone help? Thanks.

I dont know what the "best" solution is. But my favorite thing for sends is the wonderful Senderella. You can easily send audio from place to place.

Wow! I downloaded Senderella and it worked without a hitch for creating sends and returns in both Tracktion and Live (BTW, that functionality is not needed in Live, I was just testing for compatibility). Thanks for the tip!
Just wondering: In the Senderella installation notes, the developer mentioned that he took out the "SIR code" for now, implying that there may be issues with Delay Compensation when using Senderella.
Has anyone set up sends and returns using Senderella in tracktion for plugs like SIR that need to be delay compensated? If so, are there any gotchas I should be aware of?
This is important to me because Delay compensation is absent in Live 4, and lack of same is my primary reason for rewiring into another host.

I forget what the issue is with senderella and SIR, but your last post seems to imply that you want to Re-wire Tracktion into Live.
Tracktion only works as a Rewire host as far as I know.
I think you would need to Re-wire Live into Tracktion.

As far as the SIR thing, I think ModuLR did a version that compensated for SIR but it didnt work as intended for some reason (I forget why). So he removed the code. In its current state Senderella doesnt have PDC so. But Rack filters handle simple PDC so you can use SIR as a send if you wrap it in a rack filter
Of course tracktion itself handles PDC on inserts very well. And if you route one track to another track it has PDC aswell.

Currently I compose MIDI & Audio in Live, and rewire all audio into Sonar for mixdown. The main reason I rewire into Sonar is for PDC, so I can use FX plugs that require it. However, I would prefer to move towards a simpler mixdown environment with a better Host rewire implementation. Hence consideration of Tracktion.PT wrote:I forget what the issue is with senderella and SIR, but your last post seems to imply that you want to Re-wire Tracktion into Live.

I think you would need to Re-wire Live into Tracktion.
Having said that, it would be great if T2 implemented rewire slave capability, since I could then record Linear MIDI tracks from Live into Tracktion, and host my soft synths there as well right from the start of the compositional process.

Great to know. Sounds like Tracktion / Senderella may actually do the trick for me - I will investigate further. Thanks again!AD80 wrote: But Rack filters handle simple PDC so you can use SIR as a send if you wrap it in a rack filter. But Racks themselves introduce a slight delay when you put one after another as a send. Which is why I use Senderella which doesnt have that problem. So basically its rack filter send for SIR, and senderella sends for everything else.

Even though I'm not using it yet, my hats off to ModuLR for writing this Gem!
SALUTE!

Random note:
Using Godsend you can send audio from one app to another no problem.
