Valhalla Delay released

I looooooove the tuning of the feedback knob! Echoboy etc. are great but sometimes it's super hard to ride the dub when there's only a tiny feedback range between rapid decay and it blowing up through self oscillation. This beast seems to saturate at a really nice level and there's such a healthy sweet range on the feedback control for getting crazy long delay rides.

Needs a midi kill. The played note kills the delay to only have the delay fill up the gaps.

As others have said here, I don’t think H-Delay is very impressive and I’ll leave it at that.
With Echoboy, you have more “types” of delay templates, but as far as I know from working with it they’re still all based on the same algorithm, just with different settings using the advanced controls hidden in the bottom panel. You have more control but the workflow is slower and I usually end up sticking with the presets or lightly tweaking them.
With Valhalla Delay you get multiple distinct algorithms, and programming from scratch is a breeze. Sean also has a history of adding killer additional algorithms in later updates. Valhalla Vintage is arguably worth it for the later algorithms alone.

I'm on the side of those who say "allow to remove the noise". Because options are good and people may prefer to add other incarnations of flavor. Sometimes you may get great results, but don't want the noise.Trancit wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2019 10:43 amIt´s a great plugin for sound mangling and more creative stuff but hat I miss is at least one clean sounding algo... every algo on this delay is somehow muffeled and for me not suitable at all for stuff with high content...

I'm still demoing but it sounded like "Digital" mode + "Future" era kept the spectrum relatively intact among repeats (+ Age set low to tame noise and artifacts)Trancit wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2019 10:43 am I am a bit torn apart...

Second: Is there any way to link the settings for left and right channels if in dual or pingpong mode??
As far as I've seen, Tape and HiFi lose bottom-end; BBD loses top-end; Digital keeps it quite intact.
And I totally agree about the linking of L/R, it really should provide a way but I'm afraid the controls are final :\

Have you been able to get sounds like these on Late Replies? Just curious.Robert Randolph wrote: Wed Apr 17, 2019 10:05 pm I think it's always worth starting from the simplest plugin that can do what you want. Valhalla Delay really feels like a supremely easy to operate product that you can get the most common delay sounds out of (and ghost mode).
I would think that anyone looking for a delay should probably start with this, or Colour Copy and only consider touching something else when you've exhausted those possibilities.
You don't want to end up like me, spending all day screwing with MTurboDelay or Late Replies (and having a blast!) to find out that you totally lost focus of why you grabbed a delay![]()

Nope, just tested the demo again... it´s like it has a LP at about 6k on it... everything above is cutoffNiowiad wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2019 4:13 pmI'm still demoing but it sounded like "Digital" mode + "Future" era kept the spectrum relatively intact among repeats (+ Age set low to tame noise and artifacts)Trancit wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2019 10:43 am I am a bit torn apart...

Has something to do with the ratio of repeats to bpm so the delays collide in a pleasant way.
Though I’m sure a more mathy person can explain it in more detail than I can.

I tested it with some high-pitched percussion on future digital with age set to 0 and can also confirm that there is some high-end loss. For what it’s worth, it doesn’t bother me personally because if I wanted a pristine 1: 1 echo I can just use ReaDelay.Niowiad wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2019 4:13 pmI'm still demoing but it sounded like "Digital" mode + "Future" era kept the spectrum relatively intact among repeats (+ Age set low to tame noise and artifacts)Trancit wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2019 10:43 am I am a bit torn apart...

It has to do with a structural ratio that’s found in various parts of nature. It’s been a long time but I think I remember a flower being used to demonstrate one search occurrence.
