No problem. But it's not 25 pixels. On a MacBook Pro screen it's around 150 pixels. (Plugin size set to 90% where most text is still pretty small)

What do you mean?? It's just a small vertical row? (I mean at the end at least one panel has to stay there anyways, so...)

First, I love melda... But seeing what version 13 will bring seriously really runied my day.
From the medla web site:
I'm afraid and really sorry to say. But it's a lot worse than before, the knobs looks cheap and also the bright background for the EQ with this white grid. You have so much different contrast there that it's hard to look at for me. Actually I'm really and deeply shocked by all the pictures posted here about 13.
The graphics design looks like a shareware version from the 90th, being extremely honest.
What's the idea behind the 13 gui? What problems should be solved by this graphics redesign?
I bought my first melda plugin in 12 because it was the first look that I liked and that looked professional from a graphics design point of view. The features on it's own were always great.
Here is version 12: https://www.meldaproduction.com/images/ ... 00.jpg?v=3
I find the 12 version looked promising and a lot more professional and balanced for the eye than this 13 version above. The 12 version knobs had a good looking and unique style and the colors were easy on the eye and good to read. Now this bright background and a dark UI around... hmmm... I really don't like this. Sorry :/
Is it possible to keep this balanced dark 12 look and also the knob style without hacking?
From the medla web site:
Is this the new look? download/file.php?id=21506There's a new style (Neon), which is enforced as default style and everything is designed to work well with this style "out of the box".

I must say I prefer the new look. Also a fan of anything that cleans up and optimises screen real estate, but it is definitely a visual upgrade as it is. Looking forward to it. Any idea when the stable release is coming?

Funny, we must live in different worlds. That's absolutely fine that you like it, don't get me wrong! Can you name some points that you like better purely from the look?
But having some background in graphics design I can only wonder. For me it's really massivly painful to watch. Just to name a few purly functional things in this picture download/file.php?id=21506...

- Why do the coloured dots in the EQ have a gradients for example?
- Too many different font sizes.
- The contrast between white grid on bright background is hard to see.
- Contrast for the font in the dark areas (white on dark) is a lot higher than on the bright EQ curve background (grey on bright grey).
- Never mix large bright and dark areas because of the contrast change. Have a look at the EQ display and the very dark part around it. Switch fast with your eye between these areas. It's like watching in a flashlight at night.
- Some icons are barely visible. Take the disabled magnifying glass icon for minus zoom on the bright area right bottom.

Those are all fair points. The main thing I like about the new look is that it’s slightly flatter and cleaner than the old look, and any movement in that direction is positive in my book.
I do think these plugins would benefit enormously from getting a professional UI designer on board for a total redesign. Of course that’s a huge job because there’s so much functionality to manage.
With a more inviting UI, they’d sell a lot more, and I’d reach for them more often, and find them easier to recommend to friends. I have the CreativeFX bundle but have held off buying more because the UI makes the plugins less enjoyable to work with than most others I have.
I’m hoping that this visual upgrade for V13 will inspire me to spend more time with the plugins, because I love what they can do.

I agree with all your points too. Quite a good summary.
I have also to agree, there are some good points. The lightly flatter look for example.
So far V13 neon inspires me to spend a lot less time with melda plugins unfortunately or staying as long with v12 as possible. And this is really only related to the graphical design, the look. I have no problems with the pop-ups or so, it's just the look.
The plugin quality, features and attitude of this company is really great. I respect and admire their work a lot otherwise.
By the way, it should be possible to stay with V12 for a very long time, right? Or is there a reason why it's not possible, like not be able to install it anymore after the V13 release?

I tried the last rc and quite like it...
One request though: I find the EQ´s curve line still very thick which makes it look a bit clumsy compared to the now much better and more elegant looking thin lines of the analyzer... any chance to get a thinner EQ curve line
Same for the dark black color... is this changeable?

midi_transmission....Just quickly (I don't mean to agree or disagree with points made):
In V13 the overall style can still be changed (carbonium, titanium etc) and you can still muck about with colours etc.
The reason the magnifying glass minus zoom is barely visible is that it's greyed out when you're already max zoomed out (click on the + zoom, then - zoom becomes available).

The knobs are different in different styles (as in V12).toonertik wrote: Sun Apr 21, 2019 10:57 am Quick question to any one who has 13_RC. Can you also change the knobs like in V_12?

Ah right, toonertik wrote: Sun Apr 21, 2019 11:43 am Yes I saw that... but can you still have the "slider/button" option? I really don't like round knobs, preferring the horizontal approach.

Wait, this seems like a step backward, I mean why remove the customization option, is a nice feature if we would like to use different styles; I like knobs, others like sliders... Please if this can be avoided would be better to let the user to customize some of these things. I'm I wrong?goldglob wrote: Sun Apr 21, 2019 11:48 amAh right, toonertik wrote: Sun Apr 21, 2019 11:43 am Yes I saw that... but can you still have the "slider/button" option?
