If you own the boxed version you can download the first upgrade for free.JaseisMusic wrote:If you buy the boxed version, can you later upgrade it to FL studio through download? if so how much? and would that upgrade download come with lifetime free updates?
Don't worry : Looprecording is being betatested ATM and seems to be working fine.SecondSkin wrote:guess what...loop recording would be a damn nice addition with a drum machine...
I'm sorry I worded my post wrong. I meant to ask if I buy fruityloops edition of FL ($99version) can I upgrade that to FL studio? and will that upgrade include free updates?jeanmariecannie wrote:If you own the boxed version you can download the first upgrade for free.JaseisMusic wrote:If you buy the boxed version, can you later upgrade it to FL studio through download? if so how much? and would that upgrade download come with lifetime free updates?
After that you can buy 'Lifetime free updates' for $29 and download all future updates for free.

Does this mean you will get everything we develop for free from now on ?
Not really : About 90% of the new stuff we do is built in to FL Studio as basic gear (for free) to make the application better and competitive with the rest of the software that's out there.
When we develop something new like a synth or other module we will investigate whether we will build this into the main app and include it in the next free update or whether we will sell it as an optional module.
Don't worry : There will be 100's of bugfixes, new features, synths, FX, ... for free with each update we release. Check out our history page to find out what has been 'given away' for free in the last 5 years.

I always remember the thrill when I saw the birth of pianoroll in FL 3.0. It was a free update to all of us existing users. That moment turned me into a diehard FL fanboy ever since.jeanmariecannie wrote:*** Disclaimer ***

You have the free updates already, if you have the online version. The "producer edition" has extra features, like audio recording, full mixer and such. IMHO, the extra 50$ are worth it.JaseisMusic wrote: I'm sorry I worded my post wrong. Yeah, I think I had it on an SCI Tom drum machine and maybe a Yamaha, too. Hard to remember. At one point I had soooo many drum machines...Cabinfever wrote:i remember those "hold down to erase" functions. on the emu drumulator and maybe the sequential circuits drumtracks i think
