Ah, that, yes.

On our Prophet 5 you have to press auto-tune roughly every 3 minutes, maybe more often, to stay in tune in a bearable way.

In isolation, if an oscillator drifts 3 cents per minute, you'd hardly hear anything. It would be a semitone after about 17 minutes. Not in isolation, it becomes annoying quickly. Very quickly.

So we modelled them to drift as fast, but keep orbiting around the center frequency. So the unit sounds always like you pressed autotune about maybe a minute ago. Sometimes it goes off a bit more, sometimes it doesn't.

It's pretty good. Works. Doesn't annoy too much, yet isn't sterile at all.

I don't see a problem in implementing the 50/6hz hum, look at Ableton echo, it has an option to turn on noise in the character tab which resembles the noise made by a typical low quality stomp box and introduce it in the feed back loop, I don't see people getting confused by that, I'm really a fan of noise and dirt and repro being as aggressive as it is I guess it could benefit from stuff that sort of stuff, by the way I love the distortion module it is really one of a kind, thats why I choose to buy repro instead of Diva, this module really opens up a sound palette that is impossible to recreate with any other plugin/hardware out there.

Urs Thanks for your patience answering all my questions, I really appreciate having a developer being so open to discuss their products, it really gives more value to your brand and work as people find themself feeling involved in the making of such great tools, that's one of the reasons I recommend U-he to every person I know, also the fantastic demos which really give you the time to know the gear before buying it.

Excellent job really, I wish you great success and hope on buying more stuff from you guys in the future.

You can always add the 50 Hz hum yourself if you're really that high-strung on having it. It'd disappear in the mix anyways, so what good is it for? :P

Howard I was testing repro once again and I set the oscillators at 0 and I did hear the amp noise, I was wrong from the get go, I'm sorry for being annoying and curious, I didn't hear it at first because I usually set the monitoring really low, I'm amazed that the amp noise is so low on the sequential offerings, Moog stuff is really noisy by comparison, I guess I can add some hum as Evildragon said to add to the realism and thats it, thanks again to all the people at U-he for the customer support and all the answers :tu:

With the upcoming awesome looking release of Hive 2 - I thought I would drop in a future wish here for Hive:

Some "Oscillator Shaping" tools added to the WT Hexagon. Stuff like the "Bend/Symmetry/AM/FM/Soften" modes - or even some things similar to the Zebra ones.

If not possible all good, will wait for Zebra 3!

I just thought these might be a great added feature to use with the new modulators since Hive wavetables sound fantastic.

Apologies if this has been added as a wish already.

I'd leave such things to Zebra, personally.

Hello Urs,

take a close look to FAW Circle and! maybe for example Arturia Pigments.

Both connect colors to functions - strong workflow helper!

Circle color connection is more logical: yellow isn't set to a specific group (no source / target etc.) but just showing a value (maybe we could still call this primary color) - Pigments is misleading this colour (in this case not yollow but turquoise) - as it is for showing the value but it also a modulation source and target. Take a look for example to lfo page those values are not yellow (or envelope values are not orange) but turquoise.*

Better solution: Use achromatic colours for "blank" values and as primary colour or at least ... take the
Good solution: Circle Style / primary colour is only showing values but is not double occupied - "blank" values with values from specific groups.

What Arturia did make better imo is the colour harmony even if there is a little headroom ... :P

What both do but imo FAW did make better, is using this colour connection stringent.

* Even Arturia made the colour connection to the curves etc. but again misleading for example modulation wheel which is turquoise and not magenta.. But for example modulation values and the curves etc. are also coloured (correctly).

What both did good but could do better (might in this case Arturia did a better job) are getting the colour and their connections closer. Modulations / Sources: Key (magentaish better red), ENV (orange) LFO (yellow) functions and colours are close to each other.

Together with achromatic colours as background and for the primary colour - use good contrast, this would be colorful (but not too colored) and support a good workflow!

Or low-strung...

Would it be possible add copy and paste for the FX chains in Repro-1+5 ?

Post

I've noticed that if you use multiple channels with different pitch bends, and then turn on the arpeggiator, Hive will ignore them. Would it be possible to make the arpeggiation work with MPE? (different CC values per key).

I know I keep nagging about this but more mod matrix slots in Repro 5 would be awesome. How about a third tab in the bottom bar? Another option could be a new matrix button at the top left area. Its awesome to have R5 but its a bit limiting with two slots imo.

Does Repro 5 have voice doubling with stereo spread and detune? I know it has the unison button but I will rtfm on that one as Im not sure exactly what it does. Anyhow, if not then thats something Id love to have. (For poly chords that is)

Keep up the amazing work!

Can we get a stack engine in repro like the one in diva, please!!
