I purchased Tracktion Waveform on Saturday, just tried opening a project I created yesterday and it's thrown me into demonstation mode - saying you have 30 days to use the demo.

Does Waveform ping a server every time you use it ?

Edit: opening a saved edit from the project folder causes Waveform to resort back to trial/demo mode, confirmed bug

Have you tried registering it? Think you may need to if you haven't.

Yes, I have been using it since Saturday. It would open showing my email address as the registered user. It now opens informing me that I have 30 days trial. Previous to this, I'd trialled it for about 28 days but bought it when they had the Easter deal over the week end.

I could try re-registering it but I rather have a refund if this is what it going to keep doing.

What you are describing is not a normal behavior of Waveform. I have had it installed for some time and never need to re-register even after version upgrades. I would suggest trying that once and if the problem repeats get in contact with support for assistance.

I just thought, I did download the latest version (10.1) yesterday - maybe you have to re-register ?

Edit: Nope, that didn't work … still in trial mode

Logged in to Tracktion account and evidence of my purchase etc is all correct

Contact support. Something is wrong.

Are we sure it's Waveform, and not Collective, Melodyne, or one of the other plugins?
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Here's the scenario:
I register it with email and password, it acknowledges and authorizes.
I close it down and re-open, and it works correctly.
If I save a project (with just a wave file and no plugins) and then open the project, it resorts back to trial mode

This is completely bizarre, it registers me and spasmodically decides to un-register me

what OS do you use? does offline registration works?

Post

Windows. I hadn't thought about offline registration it's a good idea 😀

Well another day has gone and I still have the same problem. I rebooted my PC (as suggested ) but it has made no difference.
I haven't tried the offline method as I want to get this resolved. v10.1 has an issue in my experience.

Just removed Waveform, re-installed it and get "refused .. exceeded number of computers … " message.

Two evenings wasted.

Can someone help me please, do the following (to save my sanity)

In Windows 10, open Waveform 10.1, save a trivial project then close Waveform. Now open the project *** by clicking on the project or edit file from within the project folder *** It's important you open it via file association.

Tell me if Waveform remains registered please.

Post

Confirmed.

I use Waveform on Linux and did never open project via filemanager, from DAW interface only.
But I test it in Win10 (hope I didn't broke license on main machine) and you are right, opening project from filemanager cause loss registration.
