Ugly sound sources question

Is there a method or feature in Melda filters that lets the user hear the parts of the sound that is filtered out/ away? I'm not even sure what the term would be, but I'd like to hear the opposite of what is sent to the output.
Although I mentioned the filters, I'm even more interested in what is being removed during the upsampling stage. Sound does interesting things when pushed too hard digitally and I find those sounds and rhythms, when dropped down a few octaves, to be very interesting as background noise and even useful as modulation sources.
Thanks

There is a difference switch. Look in the toolbar panel.

Hmmm, not finding it. A little (more) help?

I will take a look for you when I get to a computer. But from memory......the button reads "Diff" and it is located just above the A/B slots in the panel to the far right of the plugin.

Not every plugin has this button, though.

I did not know about that feature. Found it (in MDynamics, MSpectralDynamics and the compressors)

Thanks everyone! I was looking at MFilter and wondering how jmg could steer me wrong!

Only in dynamic plugins now? It used to be in nearly all.
Is it there in MXXX? Maybe you could load MFilter into it.
There is always the manual phase cancellation way of doing it, this can easily be done in MXXX or even your DAW for that matter.
You need the same track twice, one with the FX on and one without. Then simply phase invert one of the tracks. Now you will only hear the difference.

It is in MXXX, so that makes most things workable. Thanks!

That won't really work except for specific "zero phase" cases. Once there's any delay or phase shift, Diff cannot work and you cannot even simulate it. It could be done in spectral domain probably though, but... :D :D
So I'm afraid a general answer is "no".
