Hi there,
now I was playing around with basic MIDI needs, like playing a virtual instrument with "Waveform" ...

After recording a MIDI clip, the note on the first beat (1/1) will not be played all the time while looping.
On the most times it is just quiet and the MIDI trigger for that note seems to got lost or at least not triggered. But if you are patient and ignoring the missing MIDI trigger, it is happen very few times, that it works like expected and the note got played.

Solution ideas:
Pre spacing up the project with some space may help on general playback, but not in looping needs.
On Looping a part of the project the first note is still missing the most time and only being played back rarely ...

Addition:
On all MIDI notes being filled in with the mouse into the clip are also not fully there in looped playback.

Addition 8.1.2
Seems to be working on a Edit created with 8.1.2...

In any case, it is strange. :)
So is this a "Function" or more than a bug?

What are you saying? Also got this strange problem?

It's known bug.

An old acquaintance even. :( Shifting the note a few ticks later usually helps.

I've just tried this in a new Edit with Collective and a MIDI clip set to generate an arp sequence and it works as expected. Is this just happening with a select number of synths? If we can get some solid reproducible steps perhaps we can take a closer look?

Also with current latest Waveform Version 9.3.2 (64bit) still problems.

Just create a MIDI-Clip and use Salamander Piano (64bit) to play it in Looping...

Then you can hear, that on restarting playback from the beginning at 1,0,0 it is swallowing up the first midi note.
Also moving the first note a little bit behind the first bar as a delayed timing does not trigger the note.

Having this issue with many freeware plugins... :(

Is this still a present problem also in Waveform 10?
Is it worth to update to Waveform 10?

In my experience, it works with Collective but not with external midi synths.

Hi Chico,
this means, that you are adding a little room, that the first note trigger is delayed. (see the screenshot). But this also do not help...

Ok, I can reproduce this now with Salamander VST. Will look in to a fix.

I've fixed this issue with Salamander VST now at least, will be in v10.1.4 which should be public beta later today.
Can you test with other plugins and let me know if the situation has improved or not?

I was testing this issue with current beta of Waveform v10.1.3 and not having anymore issues.
Seem to be really fixed now!
Thank you Tracktion!
