MSF Tab Names

The super saw example instrument in MSF has Global and FX tabs, which are named appropriately. The Generator tab name might mean something understandable to instrument designers, but won't make much sense to the general user. If you have an organ instrument with "stop" switches being the most important thing on the tab, as just one example, what does that have to do with "generator"?
So, is there a better way? Using the name Timbre makes a bit of sense, but are there other good ideas out there? Should the name of that tab just be left to the discretion of the sound designer? Or should we all just stick with Generator and not worry about it?

I think it just depends, what you can set up on the tab. I made a physical modeling preset, where I have a tab "Exciter" and another tab "Resonator". In another preset I also have the tabs Generator, FX and Global. On the Generator-tab you just set up the "main synth" and the FX tab just contains additional effects, which are applied on the overall sound. At least to me it sounds legit to just name the "main" tab "Generator", as long as you can set up the main stuff for your synth.

I just renamed that tab to whatever made sense. For a synth I labeled it "synth", for pianos "piano" and for some I used 2 tabs such as "exciter" and "harmonics". AFAIK its up to the designer, at least that's what I remember from what's on the site.

OK, that makes sense. It looks like there's a consensus (consisting of three opinions!Chandlerhimself wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 5:31 am I just renamed that tab to whatever made sense.
