Device tag question: when to use "Low CPU"?

Hey people, hey Vojtech,

this question just came to my mind:

When should we preset designers tag the device with "Low CPU"?

I mean ... I now have a new system with a very powerful i9 9900K ... other people might not have a such powerful CPU. Thus: what is low on CPU for me might not be low on CPU for them, right? :D

Till now I just watched the FL Studio CPU meter and tagged my devices with "Low CPU", when it did not go over 10% (it's not the same as the systems CPU meter, by the way. It's a more accurate meter tend to represent the real audio production situation, AFAIK).

Looking forward to all your thoughts! :)

lol here i am using a ryzen 5 1600 (overclocked a little) and in my current project where i am using around 20 Mpowersynth at any instant with supersaws at unison around 6 to 8 and some custom msoundfactory preset with string synthesizer and a shit load of post processing . my CPU barely running at 10% .

i am pretty shure if it was my old laptop(it was a a10 cpu) it would have already crashed or started crackling like crazy.

i think vojtech should include a preset benchmarker in the settings . lol .

I think the best way would be for Vojtech to make a preset that he thinks has medium CPU usage with all fx on and include it in MSF for testers. Then when someone finishes a device, just turn on all the fx and test the CPU. If it is lower than the included preset mark it "low CPU". That seems to be the easiest way.

Nice idea. There is already the CPU benchmmark anyway. Maybe this CPU benachmark could give a hint, if this preset would be qualify for the "Low CPU" tag ... or so. :D

... while this is also a good idea! :)

Hehe CPU benchmark cannot be done on "a virtual CPU" :). Anyways I'd just say, try to be intelligent :D. The flag is more like for differentiation of "high CPU" stuff and when you have a high CPU stuff, you usually know :D
