Interesting.. singing robots...with robots at home voting in.. judging the sonic purity of their voice through spectral anylisers.. :D

Yes, and any hint of aliasing will result in instant disqualification/destruction. (I'm thinking that watching the disqualified robots get destroyed would be a major selling point of the show.)

You could really stand to get out more
Could you please elaborate a bit?

Trust me. You don't want to. She's a headcase.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I think this thread has lived its life.

This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

not possible.
we are discussing "the future" therefore there can always be speculation about what may come, until there is no more future, at which point there will be no one around to post to tell us the thread is over, therefore the thread can never be said to be "over".
common sense :)

I'm not sure extrapolating the last ten years as though development is always linear is the right way to try and imagine.
I don't have enough on the ball to really see into the future, but I think it may be not be linear just based in my experience.

Since I started, things were developed more recently like Precedence by 2C Audio, MIR (Multiple Impulse Responses, using a technology known as Ambisonics) by VSL, and Imager Pro by VSL which leverage what is known about acoustics to make virtualization of a 3D space, a surround experience more viable on a smaller setup than was needed before. Nuendo is very into VR and making sound do a magic trick in a headset. I think the developers of this are capable of making that more and more efficient for the end user's experience.

So 2009 to today (vs 2000 to 2009) things seem somewhat to be moving exponentially and this is possible because of advances in CPU and more RAM, basically.

Again, the use of Kyma to granularly analyze time, per Braff's investigations, is a new area. Analysis of eg., "morphing" which occurs in African rhythm, the Brazilian 16ths, is availed where it wasn't before, thru tech. There's no market share for the major DAWs to expend a lot of money to implement it I wouldn't guess, but who knows. Young people today are intellectually curious (or they're idiots, both I think are a product of ease of access availed by technological advances), particularly in the area of rhythm.

MicroRhythm is trending. The advancement here is getting a handle on something in the abstract, via the intellect which would normally require being ingrained into a deep cultural awareness. Without getting into 'authenticity' or other aesthetic type quibble. It still requires feeling it, but awareness of it technically I think is very useful.
if there is shown there is a market an entity working to satisfy that niche could appear.

But more to a point, I think focusing on how tech caters to the lazy, like that has to mean something or forms some truism at all is exactly the wrong lesson to take away.
