Diva 1.4.1 update NKS Support [NI Maschine/Kontrol]

This is great. Not tested extensively but imported all my preset linraries in on common tag for time being.
So good to have the presets in Maschine for easy access and start culling the ones I not really used.
As a tip for any one with a wealth of presets organised in the diva preset folder.
I backed up the preset data folder, copied every patch into the one folder so no subs and converted all presets in one batch to NKS. Seemless. Then deleted the copied files and restored the original Diva hp2 folder from the created zipped file, so back to normal and organised. Everything showing up nicely in Maschine 2.4
Need to play some more, so no bugs report just a happy user looking forward to more NKS porting.
@Urs and u-he Thank you for this.

Hehe, yep, this is what kept us busy for a while
So the converted presets appear even if they're not tagged? - That's very good news!

I tagged all just to get things going and to test as all can be deleted later.Urs wrote:Hehe, yep, this is what kept us busy for a while![]()

So selected all presets after moving whole collection to one folder.
Tagged everything as "other", job done.
It appears there's some default tagging performed within Maschine.
IE :
Select the new and rather nice new Diva logo in Machine so only Diva presets appear.
In the search bar search plug and all plughuuger or 3ee presets (if you have them) for example. So Author and Vendor appears to be auto tagged for the presets.

Are there plans to update the Diva NKS mapping?
At present I find it a bit frustrating as it seems very few of the controls are available.
For instance I was expecting to be able to have an oscillator page or two to be able to tune the 3 oscs in Monark but there's none of that.
I also didn't find an envelope page where I could adjust them, and have on occasion found some parameters that had no effect whatsoever ( so I guess were for sections of the synth which weren't in use ).
I was expecting something comparable to the Nektar panorama mapping which is amazing, with more pages of course due to having only 8 knobs, but I don't think it's anywhere near currently.

Thanks for the feedback - it's most welcome and we'll gather it for future improvements!FastTriggerFish wrote:Are there plans to update the Diva NKS mapping?

As for tunings - as we've explained it in the guide - the oscillator tuning parameters don't work precise enough with the NKS system currently. If you map them and twiddle, you can't ever knob them back to 0, not even with shift. You'd need to use the mouse to do so. There'll be a solution for that, and once it's available we'll map the tuning parameters.
There were issues with Diva's tuning parameters and controller mapping often because people wanted to map the knobs directly. However, even if there are two knobs in our GUI, it's just one parameter going from -30 to +30 semitones. The Digital Osc for instance has that parameter assigned to just a single knob. The reason for doing so is that we wanted to allow for smooth parameter automation over the full range, as opposed to splitting it up in octaves and +/-6 semitones. Simply because you can do that with the CV inputs of the analogue synths too. Unfortunately, +/- 30 semitones in steps of Cents just doesn't (yet) complement the internal raster of the NKS knobs.
The envelopes are mapped on their own pages, I think 3 and 4?
As for the number of pages... we certainly could have filled 30 or even more pages with parameters. But even 8 pages can already be a challenge to master, more than 10 might be overwhelming. There is no one-for-all solution as the ideal amount of parameters depends on your case of usage: Do you want to tweak a few parameters live or do you want to program a sound from scratch? - For now we decided to have some middle ground and then see how we go. In future we might offer flexible page layouts, user defined pages, page presets and what not, but we had to start somewhere and then figure out what people want.

Thanks for your reply Urs !
First I have to apologize as I clearly missed out reading some crucial bits in the guide, like the Automatic Controller mapping ( by the way there is a typo in the doc , the correct path on mac is .../Applications Support/u-he/com.u-he.Diva.Preferences.txt )
And I also somehow managed to miss the envelopes pages.
Your comments are very interesting as it seems most of the issues come from limitations of the NKS software itself.
If I may make some more constructive suggestions than my initial comment, which if you agree with you could transmit to NI:
- The preset name under the page number is a bit useless. I'd rather it had a page name instead
- There should be a button combination ( or using the big knob which is currently only used for preset browsing ?? ) that uses the displays under the knobs to display names of pages and then touching the corresponding knob would take you to that page. The arrows would allow you to scroll between banks of 8 pages.
This would allow much quicker and pleasant navigation rather than scrolling aimlessly through endless pages which would indeed be maddening with 30 or more pages.
I feel like the above would work pretty well for Zebra as well, as you could navigate from module to module quickly.
Possibly it would be great if a given section could have a basic page and an advanced page that is accessed with shift something.
8 knobs is clearly not the easiest interface, but I think it could be much better with a more hierarchical design ( some may call it menu diving... ) rather than the very flat approach used currently that only works well for synths with very few controls.
Anyway I do really appreciate U-he getting involved in this initiative and I think with a few improvements it could be extremely good to use.

Hi is there anyhwere an instruction how to convert or get DIVA working in Komplete Kontrol? Same Aplies for Repro1. Repro 5 works from start and same day installation. But Diva and Repro1 do not. How can I get them to work? Would be nice to have at least some of the functions on my Komplete 61 S working.MFXxx wrote: Fri Dec 18, 2015 11:38 pm This is great. Diva and Repro-1 are fully NKS compatible. If you experience an issue, please contact our support team (we're currently caught up in trade show business though, the support team won't be very responsive until next week)Wabo wrote: Tue May 07, 2019 7:42 amHi is there anyhwere an instruction how to convert or get DIVA working in Komplete Kontrol? Yep, the issue is that I get artwork to see, sound preview some of it, but when try to load a preset I get the message plugin not found. Will write to support. Its maybe just that NKI looks in a different location(even if the path is correctly given).

This might happen if you didn't install the VST2 version, which is needed for Komplete Kontrol.
Maybe simply reinstall them, making sure that VST2 is selected during installation.
And check in which paths Komplete Kontrol looks for installed plugins (in its preferences, under the Locations tab).
Then check if the VST2 versions of Diva and Repro are actually found in one of those directories.

Reinstalled, rescanned plugins under preferences. U-He plugins show up on the left side library with graphics and preset list in the user tab. When try to load any preset: "plug-in not found"
Also Diva does not show up in /preferences/manager. Path is there...
Arturia Collection and Korg Collection work fine by simply adding the image/presets/dbfile.

Have you definitely got the VST2 versions in the plugins folder and have they been rescanned in Komplete Kontrol?
