Wow you seem to know the theming stuff. :-)

Answer for (a). No there are no gradients. I just used other colors.

Sure, you could make the colors a bit more bright. As said, just a rough idea. But my intention was mostly to get a balanced and good looking UI that is easy to look at. That's just my opinion of course, therefore I was so interesting what others say.

Uhmm yes, I like

@DarkStar: I think the global dry/wet 'fader' should have a different color than the processor units (like the amp), because the are different things. You could think they are one unit otherwise.

I don't like the color tint in the background too much (green for EQ, red for Destroyer). That was better before. I could again nitpick more about certain thing related to my personal taste, but I would be absolutely ok to use it.

I find it difficult to decide between both versions (a bit smoother vs. a bit more contrast in the nicolaibob version), I would need to look at it unscaled to have an opinion. But I prefer the meter section from the second picture without the blueish tint for IN & OUT meter and fonts.

I think it's important to make the following clear.

My main problem with the version 13 melda UI is not about these small visual taste things, it's really a usability thing. I find it honestly very hard to look at the original version 13 melda UI and use it! That's no problem with your versions.

All knobs use the same colour for the arc. In the screenshot, Destroyer knobs are red and EQ knobs are green, as those panels are of specific types (and the colour override is hard-coded). Now, there is an argument that "AmpSim" knob colours could be overridden too.

The colour tint for the panel background can be turned off, by the user, in the Settings window.

The only difference between the two was meant to be the removal of the knob values, to encourage changing the controls with your ears". I don't know what went wrong there.

(Edit: Ah, I see - it's the Text & Shapes colour - I did not change it in the second one.]

I know GUIs are a highly subjective and anyone has a different opinion on how
a plugin should look like, but I´m really wondering why the "Titanium" style had to
give way to the new "Neon" style as the default style in V13.

Especially on plugins with many knobs like MTurboReverb and MTurboDelay Titanium
feel way less cluttered and much more cohesive in my opinion.

I think this style became kind of a unique selling point and it looks even better in V13.

Is there a reason why Titanium was replaced?

Anyways, no big deal since anyone can use the style of their choice  .

Cheers

What do you like better with Titanium in version 13? Have you really checked it? I have.
Version 12 Titanium looks professional, balanced and consistent. In 13 started to get messy again.

Unfortunately, it's not true that you can continue to use the Titanium theme like it was in 12. The dark style is removed partly from titanium. You have large bright areas now which results in strange contrast. It's beyond judging what I prefer or not. It's about having problem to use the provided themes. Otherwise I wouldn't make such a fuss here.

Yes I'm really a bit disappointed because I spend a good amount of money on theses plugins in version 12 because I thought the UI problems in melda are history. Now it starts again. Don't understand me wrong. I have a lot of love for melda. But the lack of a professional UI design is really a problem for me.

And the answer can't be just to add more and more not great elaborated themes.

@Vojtech: You said often in this topic that you don't like the visual design part and want to do more important things. Some engineers may be unconcerned with visual design, but a lot of producers and musicians have also a background in visual design or art. I can only say for myself yes it matters a lot to have a least a ok looking UI. It's like for you hearing bad mp3 encoded music or reading bad programming code. 8)

When you don't want to outsource it, could it be an idea to get some support by the community to design some good default themes?

Sorry to hear that you don´t like Titanium V13.

As I said opinions on GUIs may vary.

What do you mean by "The dark style is removed partly from titanium. You have large bright areas now which results in strange contrast. ". I couldn´t find large bright areas in any of my Melda Plug-ins in Titanium style (Mixing Bundle, Paid Free Bundle, MPowerSynth, and some more).

Did you read the release notes for V13? GUIs other than Neon "may not work that well compared to Neon" which will be solved in the future (would be good if Vojtech could clarify which problems this might be) .

Cheers

Version 13 major update release notes
Version 13 mainly focuses on GUI. We tried to improve the clarity and easy of use. The GUIs themselves have been redesigned when appropriate and some related changes have been made:

Main changes
There's a new style (Neon), which is enforced as default style and everything is designed to work well with this style "out of the box". This includes everything from basic components to various graphs and analyzers. Previous style settings are ignored now. If you feel the need to get your style settings back, it is not recommended, but you can hack the engine by going to the user settings folder (where the presets are) and copy StyleSettingsV11.cfg to StyleSettingsV13.cfg in proper folders. Note that other styles may not work that well compared to Neon. While we are going to slowly improve other styles as well, it has a low priority. Neon is the new "look" of Melda plugins.

Sliders/knobs/buttons option has been removed and all plugins now use a combination of all 3. This way we can optimize the layout to make it work well, resize only if needed and look clean and easy to use.

Remaining details
Plugin toolbar is now collapsed by default. While it is one click away, the default can be changed in Settings. Many details such as knob response times to dragging / mouse wheel have been standardized for faster workflow. Style engine has been improved and so has the style editor. While older styles are still compatible with the new version, they probably won't perform well enough. New styles cannot be used with older versions of the plugins.

Thanks for your sympathy. :-)

Yes that's another reason why I make a but of a fuss here.

But to your Titanium question. Have a look at the picture here. viewtopic.php?f=138&t=524841 The top one is V12 the one at the bottom is V13. I don't know, but the V12 looks a lot better. This is just one example.

But in general all areas with curves for EQs or meter backgrounds have a light grey background now with a white grid on top. Also in titanium, you can't change that. For plugins like MLoudnessAnalyzer it's particularly bad.

Everywhere. Simply start a topic with "MSF: ". If you insist though, there's a thread called "MSF Beta" although it does not contain as much (far from it) as what one can find everywhere.

Cheers.

Depends on what you would like do with a .wav file. (nja nja nja nja njaaaaa 🧐 ) if you only like to play back the file, then use the MDrummer modules (second column)

BUT if you would like to get a bit kinky, then you can also load .wav files into the oscillator, oscillator shaper, wavetable, additive or modal filter...

Although a full featured sampler is on it s way... Then you'll be able to play back your sample across the keyboard as a playable instrument (pitches spread across the keyboard).

I got you now. You are right. V12 looks more cohesive in this case but on the other hand i really like
the light grey background in MautodynamicEQ because this way you can set the opacity of the Analyzer really low and it will still be visible. So it would be great if the background would be changeable in the future (as a default and for individual plugins).
Also the flashy colors of the names of the presets on the easy screen and the colors of the EQ nodes in Titanium V13 are a bit to "neon" for the style in my opinion.

Have you tried UraniumDark yet? I think this might fit your needs.

With Titanium, UraniumDark and maybe even Carbonium already in place i really wonder why
Neon became the default style all of a sudden.

In Neon, the light grey background is used for all "Display" elements - the meters, time-graphs, transformation shape graphs, band editors etc. It is built into the Neon Style and can be altered only in the Textured Style Editor, not by users. Edit: but the Background colour can affect it.

Copying / renaming the StyleSettings_v11.cfg files so that the Titanium style is used will, I think, use the Titanium v13 style. You might need to reinstall v12, copy the Titanium style to say Titanium_v12, then reinstall v13.
Here, the Styles are in: C:\ProgramData\MeldaProduction\MTexturedStyles. It should be OK; but proceed at your own risk.

You might also try Excitonium_DS in v13

Just installed 13.00, I think the new knobs look very poor but that won't keep me from turning them.
