^^^ Legato clips also been added, just sayingdreamstate42 wrote: Wed May 08, 2019 7:44 pm Definitely lot's of fun to play around with, might actually getting me into modular stuff. What's almost even more important to me: So far it seems that they seriously improved macOS performance, at least according to my very scientific testing method: 60 tracks with 5min of audio loops + 20 tracks of MIDI (2x DIVA, 18x Serum). Scrolling and zooming is still very smooth, no stuttering during playback. Very impressive
I swear, every time I "definitely & finally have decided to stick with Live, really this time" the only serious contender in terms of workflow improves on the few small annoyances that kept me away...![]()

Mac-specific performance improvements were a noted addition to the previous 2.* update. There is no mention of them in the update notes for this version (3.0), which leads me to believe you are experiencing the improvements from the previous update; go look at the release notes and you'll see what I mean, they single out mac performance improvements specifically.dreamstate42 wrote: Wed May 08, 2019 7:44 pm Definitely lot's of fun to play around with, might actually getting me into modular stuff. Somewhat related, since you're on a mac -- are you not getting the fan-constantly-running-on-high issue that seems to plague most Mac users of BWS ?

They got rid of some of the 3d stuff... It's flatter, cleaner and easier on the eyes.mholloway wrote: Wed May 08, 2019 7:47 pm I don't get it, those images look exactly like BWS 2 to me....

I predict: we will see a lot of interesting grid devices : physical modeling and sequences things....

So far I'm not... but I'm just playing around on one or two tracks and exploring the Grid.mholloway wrote: Wed May 08, 2019 7:51 pm Somewhat related, since you're on a mac -- are you not getting the fan-constantly-running-on-high issue that seems to plague most Mac users of BWS ?

Indeed. If this could be shared in one place, say Bitwig site when you log in, it would be fantasticWhywhy wrote: Wed May 08, 2019 7:57 pm I predict: we will see a lot of interesting grid devices : physical modeling, sequences modules and crazy effects things....

Very intuitive and inviting. Plus it has the Phase Osc from Phase-4 and the full Sampler Osc (including multi-samples). Suddenly it is easy to build my own Samplers! This is so sweet! Wanna bit crush the samples before going to the filter? add an extra Highpass filter? Use 2 sample Osc's? All easy as can be... with polyphony, voice stacking and MPE!SLiC wrote: Wed May 08, 2019 7:22 pm Yeh, we have all only had the grid for a few hours, but I am already getting ideas to sounds faster than with Reaktor/Blocks/Max all of which I have had quite a lot of experience with....especially MPE poly synths, but also FX.

3.0 runs a lot better for me than 2.5.1, so although they did not specifically mention it, I would have assumed the performance improvements on macOS are part of "General user interface overhaul" and "Reworked audio backends: (...) CoreAudio (...)" (as the notes focused primarily on The Grid).mholloway wrote: Wed May 08, 2019 7:51 pm Mac-specific performance improvements were a noted addition to the previous 2.* update. Interestingly enough though, I never experienced any fan-running issues with BWS (or Live, which I also read a lot about).
Frequently changing DAW of choice...
