Should be in the next few weeks. Massive X will be released in June. Maybe they combine that somehow. Just a guess though.

Damn, if this USB e-licenser thing was not required, I would have jumped off right away. I always wanted to try Cubase Pro. Is this the first time they have had this 50% offer on Competitive Upgrade? Or does it happen this time every year?

It doesnt happen often, not at this steep a discount. Upgrades are more common around Summer sale, I believe its annual or at most every second year. Crossgrade offer is very good and based on history isnt likely to be repeated anytime soon.

The eLicenser is a problem indeed. Especially when you already maxed out with usb slots. The eLicenser does run seamlessly though, unlikely to cause trouble, just an unnecessary hog.

The price is indeed tempting, but the e-licenser is the biggest turn off for me. And that makes it a good reason, I guess, that I should not buy Cubase Pro and also save the time, money, and headache of learning a new DAW. I will stick to FL Studio and Maschine.

Also why do they provide an additional line of Chinese, which is poorly translated BTW. I don't think cubase would be popular in China, at least for music production as far as I know, because everyone seems to be using FL studio.

We see a lot of Chinese customers buying orchestral libraries.

If they sent you a serial you would just register it in the eLicenser Control Center application. As somebody pointed out, you can't really proof ownership of Logic, so my guess is that the cross grade is most likely just following the honor system.

If you already have a serial number then you are good to go.
With Logic can't they just ask for proof of purchase or a screenshot showing the serial number as they do for other DAWs? It's a paid for item so there will be a trail somewhere.

Yes, they want a screenshot of your purchase receipt, or of proof of registration / latest update, or a photo of the serial number on the box. It could probably easily be photoshopped though, and someone could have sold their software after purchasing, so it's still a bit of an honor system.
