I loaded Pads -> Dark -> Cinematic in both MSF and MPS. With MPS the sound is quickly modulated in the high pitch, giving a jerky non-smooth result for a pad, whereas in MSF it stays calm and enables time to appreciate fully the sound, which is MUCH better. Now the sound can be used in a stable way as-is to create atmospheres.

Hopefully this "functionality" of MPS will not be added to MSF ! : 8)

Yeah, a lot of them sound different. I converted the MPS presets over to MSF. Because they have differences they dont convert over exactly the same. I considered changing the preset names, so people didn't expect them to be the same. However there were hundreds and this would take ages.

All right. So far I was never driven into MPS. The way I approach sounds, from a user perspective when I want to create music, is that I load some sounds and play them. If they bring inspiration, good. If not, let's go to another synth. Going to the same synth multiple times then "organically" makes that synth raise up in the "friendly synth" chart. MPS never succeeded to do that. Sounds definitively on the cold side of things, delayed response from the MIDI keyboard, sounds that would get out of their expected tracks.

See for instance the middle section of "3 Peaks" in the signature below for warmness and predictability. A predictability to which then modulation can be added for expected results.

On the other hand, so far MSF seems to be more rooted, which rounded expression capabilities. IMHO it's only on a solid base that modulations can be added. Hence my comment above about not making that Cinematic patch behave exactly as in MPS, as one example. There could be many like this.
