Just wanted to mention that the grid seems to be quite efficient with CPU utilization.
Of course you can go crazy with your stacked settings and lots of modules, but from what I can tell it is pretty damn efficient on average, at least in Debian Linux anyway.

Haha, nice. From now on, every feature request will be answered by "It's already possible in The Grid, you just haven't found it yet."
Next up: Proving turing completeness of Bitwig Studio via Grid Modules.

I'm pretty sure it is Turing Complete. All those logic modules. Input binary pulsed in via Gate In. Quantized modulation as output binary? Even Brainfuck and Whitespace are TC.

started to recreate some of my Reason devices, most important was a MIDI note triggered multi-fx chain device, it uses MIDI sender/receiver devices so can be triggered from other track, the fx-chain container uses audio receivers, so its container also can be duplicated and moved to different tracks
created only three trigger notes, so please as extend it as u need

somebody created a ping-pong delay in the forum, recreated it from memory, hope it was it

sounds like a ping-pong delay, looks like a ping-pong delay so it's a ping-pong delay, respect to the original creator

Haha yeah you got it right, all the way down to the superfluous attenuators I used for moving the cables out of the way (unless that's just my image :p looks identical.) Nice job uploading a presetxbitz wrote: Sun May 12, 2019 5:33 pm somebody created a ping-pong delay in the forum, recreated it from memory, hope it was it

How would I go about FMing or PMing a Sampler device inside the grid? I tried routing a sine OSC into the pitch input of the sampler but it just produced noise!
Apologies, I am very new to this 'modular' world!
EDIT: I added an Attenuate level part before the Sample pitch input and this makes it much more controllable. Is that the correct way?

Here's a tip that often overlooked: don't forget to name your modules in Inspector panel if their purpose isn't clear, especially modulation outlets and sources. Labels will appear at the top of the module if it supports labels.

Hey moderators, can this thread be a sticky? This is quickly becoming a home grown bible!

Damn, this even looks like woman's creation - there's beauty and flair in this, unlike all the other manly, technical patches

For a while, I was thinking Pre FX was for Note FX only, but it can also hold VSTs. (This came up in a discussion in the Bitwig Facebook forum). So I started with a very basic Grid instrument, then loaded a VST (Phase-4 in this case) in Pre FX, then added the Audio In module in The Grid, mixed it with The Grid instrument, and the two are mixed together. Sweet!
EDIT 1: Works great with Bitwig VST's, having a little bit of trouble with non-Bitwig. Will look into this more.
EDIT 2: Interesting... In this setup, NI synths and Synthmaster "steal" the notes such that the simple synth inside The Grid doesn't play. But audio is passing through The Grid, from the VST in the Pre FX bin. VSTs that DON'T steal the notes and play concurrent with The Grid synth are Arturia (several tested), IL's Harmor, EWQL Play, and of course, Bitwig. I stopped my testing at this point. Why do VSTs from some mfrs "steal" notes while others don't?
EDIT 3: I'm going to submit this to Bitwig support. Not sure if this is a "bug" or not, but worth mentioning as an anomaly.
