1. Is there commonly a need for the followers in MTurbocompressor? I get that they measure the input signal, and use the measurements modulate something. But isn't that what attack and release are for?
Are the followers here basically a way to finely tweak attack and release in greater detail?
2. If more than 1 follower is turned on, how exactly do they interact?
3. How do the followers interact with attack & release settings on the "Easy Screen"?
I did try to figure this out from the manual, but I couldn't seem to find exact details.

Q3. The user guide will tell you what each parameter does but does not go into specific Devices. Different Devices use Attack and Release differently. To explore:
-- select the device and switch to Edit mode,
-- find the "Attack" Multiparameter (MP) and open its Editor,
-- look at its target parameters and range of values.
For example, in Meve, Attack is MP15 and changes Follower 1 Attack between 1 and 5 ms.
MSLE is a bit trickier. Attack is MP15 and changes 2 values of a target parameter (parameter 2) another MP (MP16). Looking at MP16, which is Release. Parameter 2 is Follower 1 Attack. With the Easy screen Attack at 0%, the range of the Follower 1 Attack in MP16 is 0.27 to 0.70 ms, and with it at 100% the range is 22 to 14ms.
Note that changing the Easy screen Release parameter, changes the Follower 1 Attack value within the available range.
Now that it what is implemented. But what doe it mean - I'm not so sure
Two tips:
-- Ctrl_Alt_click on an Easy screen parameter to open its Multiparameter Editor
-- Click on [Map] in any Multiparameter Editor to see all the mappimgs.

As DarkStar explains . Basically Followers can be configured in various ways to somehow follow the input/sidechain/both. Followers 2-4 have operation parameter, which controls what they do to the existing follower output.

Hopefully a good summary would be something like this:
The behavior/functioning of the followers depends on what compressor model is chosen on the Easy Screen (same for attack & release). And also, you can go deeper and tweak things even more if you want.
O.K.... back to more experimenting & learning!
