I don't know if they'd have to tell anyone that they're going to focus on more traditional stuff. Now that the Grid is in place, what else is there really to do other than fart around with modules and FX?
Groove template quantize
Better transient detection
Easier stretch marker insertion
Articulations a la Live
Comping, so I don't have to listen to requests for it anymore.
I completely understand why they've taken this path. Just look at the traffic in the other threads from Grid-o-philes. I knew they were into that stuff when I saw them at NAMM a couple years back smack dab in the middle of the modular synth section.

Bitwig just added Poly Grid and FX Grid devices. I want a Midi Grid deviceZacchino wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 9:17 pmWhat do you mean by "Midi Grid" and "Tempo Mapping"?
And when you say "Automation Clips", you mean like FL Studio's? I know where you're going but don't you find it messy to have a whole clip dedicated for Automations (not that much since they added Folders/Track Nesting)?
Tempo Mapping... allows one to play a without a metronome and then the DAW will create a tempo map that matches what one plays and then that can be used to conform other tracks to that tempo.
By Automation Clips, I mean like in Reaper called Automation Items. Here is a video:

They will get there in the common zone I’m sure.
But I prefer this refreshing journey and you’ll see eventually other DAWs will follow.

When I audition a MIDI file, I want to be able to select which track it is auditioned on. Currently all auditioned midi goes to a simple internal synth. This is bad enough when you want to hear how your melodic tracks will sound, but useless when you are trying to audition a MIDI drum loop.
To me this is astoundingly basic functionality for a pattern based DAW and I don't understand why it seems like I am the only one bothered by such a glaring flaw.

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Currently when you have a long MIDI notes in a clip, if you play it from the middle the notes won't be triggered - MIDI chase fixes that.

That's what it's called. I miss this from Logic. I took it for granted, so much so that I didn't know what it was called. Yes, this would be nice.

Some things that are dear to my heart:
- Normalize bounces
- Adaptable width of mixer channels (so I can fit more channels onto the screen without having to scroll)
- Improved pen mode for core DAW features, e.g. It's currently not really possible to change the length of a clip in the arrange window using the pen on a surface pro due to some UI glitch

Possibilities to work with music that is not based on an even grid: movable grid divisions, possibility to create gates for the Grid from clip audio onsets, etc. I asked about this, and groove options are planned in the future.
MIDI stretch.

Sure it is - you grab & hold the clip with one finger and on the outer ring you'll have brackets to drag out.
Why would you use the pen in a music app?

i don't think midi chase is a good enough idea considering sound design possibilities in bitwig. With orchestral stuff,it's fine, but what about the complex sound atmospheres where you do require everything to glue together w.r.t time and various attack release times associated with it. The bugs might turn out to be huge in number. It's a challenge, worth trying, but a challenge to make midi chase work in sound design department.
does anyone also thinks that or did i make a complete fool of myself lol

Tempo mapping
Midi within the Grid (I don't mind a Midi Grid as bonus)
Comping
Midi chase (as option if it bothers some)
