exmatproton wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 8:40 amSaving presets isn't working like it should. There is something wrong with the X/Y controllers. When saving a new preset without any entry in the X/Y section, these will be loaded with entries when trying to opening said preset.
This is how we managed to magically assign XYs to thousands of existing Hive patches. It's been like that since Hive 1.2, when we introduced XYs.

But now of course you have additional control over them, and quick ways to remove/change/redo assignments.

But yeah, we simply don't want unassigned XYs, and experience tells us that people can't be bothered to assign them. Hence we auto-assign whenever necessary/possible.
?

I truly don't get this..hehehe.

I want to have a clean INIT, but this isn't possible because of auto-assigning X/Y entries? (OCD-ing :hyper: )
Weird.

I'll just leave all the X/Y controllers in the middle then when saving presets :D

The location of the lock icons in the scope is not practical because they now cover the text. A better location would be on the left or right of the text (and maybe make them blue).

I also get a big (blurry) icon in the last scope. I'd rather not see a lock icon in the scope itself.

Although I like the glow effect in the scope, I not sure if I like the text in the scope also to glow. But it might look bad if the text is plain and the scope glows. But It doesn't really bother to me that much. The icons though do.

I need to re-enter my serial number every time I open a new project in Logic. Is this a normal pre-release thing?

And after some more playing around, +10000 to one of the lanes in the scope being set to 'last touched control' by default.

You can right-click into the scope and disable the glow effect (change to fast or eco), maybe that helps a bit.

When I use the maximum zoom level that fits my screen (170%) many text and elements are blurry. When I zoom in to 200% everything is crisp. I think the differences are very large and certainly for text it could be better. Certainly considering that some text is scaled properly.

I'm not sure if the attached image reflects the true differences because of compression of the file in this forum.

Effortless upgrade and installation. Hive 2 is a very pretty looking thing :-) Well done Urs and team.

I had the same thing in Ableton Live. I had to restart the DAW. Maybe that helps in your case too.

I know I can disable the glow but I like it for the scope. What I meant was that I think I don't like it for the text behind the scope. But it's ok; no big deal. The real 'issue' are the lock icons.

Same for me in Cubase 10, restart Logic and see if it accepts it or not.

Regarding serial number issues: It's pretty much always a write permission thing. I thought we had this tackled in the installers, but maybe it only applies to fresh installation.

I did not expect anyone to lock anything in the scope ever

Unfortunately some of our staff are on sick leave until after the release, but I'm sure we'll comb through these threads and make tickets for updates.

As already mentioned by someone, after entering the serial number, best thing is to shut down the host, and restart it.
And if this doesn't help, then it's really simply permission issues in the folder where the files are saved. Shouldn't happen anymore, since we improved that part dramatically, but there might still be special cases.

After about for 5 seconds (!) this hicking stops, and the preset is actually selected. No crash, not workable either.
As far as I understand it, this whole process is completely done by Bitwig, we are not doing anything there. So it might be good to ask Bitwig about that problem.
