Some struggles with MRhythmizer on Logic...

Hi there

So I got the MRhythmizer recently, and I gotta say it's a very cool tool. But I am still having a bit of a struggle, that's why I'm asking here:

What I wanna do is use the MRhythmizer for these characteristic trap hi hats (you know, the fast "rattlesnake" ones). Of course this can also done by hand by just using 1/32 notes or so, but with the MRhythmizer this could be done much more convenient and much more and better variations would be possible etc. Of course this requires the possibility to apply the effects of the MRhythmizer also on very short sequences, and not a whole bar. Furthermore, it has to be possible to switch quickly between effects (or that it automatically switches back to the "standard" beat after releasing the key).

So my first approach for this was to create a drum track with some simple hi hats, then creating a new track with the MRhythmizer as instrument and then choosing the drum track as a sidechain in MRhythmizer (and of course activating note-off). At first this did not work because apparently you can only choose Inst. tracks as sidechains in MRhythmizer and apparently my drumkit was an Aux track (although it was the standard stock "Atlanta" drumkit by Logic). Apparently the kickdrum (sub?)track of this drum kit was the Inst. track, but moving the Midi region to this track also didnt help.
So I was forced to choose a "normal" drumkit that is not editable and has no sub tracks. And there the MRhythmizer effect steering with the midi-keyboard worked technically, but not acoustically. It's hard to explain but it really worsened the sound of the hi hats. And sometimes, like in the second half of the bar (?), there was no real hihat sound anymore, only something like an echo... but the steering by keyboard worked fine.

So my question is now how can I achieve that I can apply the MRhythmizer effects only to short sequences of a bar (either through tweaking the stock patterns, linking patterns [but then i also need a way to make shorter patterns than a whole bar] or by controlling the plug in with the keyboard - everything works for me) without it having a bad influence on the sound of the hihats?

Please note that I am absolutely no expert in this stuff and I really don't understand many of these technical terms.

I would put the plugin on your hihat track.
The time slots always have slot 1 blank (no effect)
So I would just automate this parameter in the host, to turn on/off the effect.

See, that's what I meant when I said I dont understand these technical terms.

Luckily I found out the solution by myself. The secret was to mute the "main" track - apparently the "echo" I heard was just the sound of the hihat track still coming through without the mrhythmizer effect. Muting it solves the problem. thanks anyway!
