Here is part 2 and I tried to show some tips as well as answer some questions such as how to create bars, xy pads and hookup controls to midi. I'm sure I didn't answer every question, but I hope I gave people some ideas of what could be done. If you have anymore questions let me know. I'm not planning a part 3, but if there are enough questions I might do it. I hope you find this video useful.

EXcellent again, thank you! But I guess I'm going to have to hit you hard with questions on these first two, then, because I REALLY want to see a 3rd and even a 4th part to this series:)

So, here's two right off the bat:
1st, what do the two new buttons (Save Template/Process Template) at the bottom of the MPManager do?
2nd, is there any way to CLEAR the MIDI assignments list in the MIDI Settings panel?

TIA!

1 Try the [?] in the Group Editor panel ;)
2 Not that I know of, I just Uncheck it

Well, yeah…yet another minimal info-hint pointing at unfathomable depths, raising and not answering many more questions:) These buttons alone are worth an entire video!

EDIT: Well, so far, I guess it would be a short video. Even though it appears to be a very welcome MP Style creator and applier tool…

from the ? info wrote:Save template
Save template button lets you save various settings of selected multiparameters into a file. You can then use the Process template button to apply these on different settings. It is for example useful to change visual properties and order of the multiparameters.

Process template
Process template button lets you apply settings stored using Save template button onto the current set of mutliparameters. Note that it applies it onto the entire multiparameter set, not just the selected ones.
…because of that last bolded line, it's basically useless, AFAIKTell. What's the point of collecting and applying lots of different Styles if you can only apply any given one to ALL the MPs in a device, a thing that will never be wanted to be all in one style?

Plus, it appears to work, at this point, only inside the Manager the Template/Style was created from. I assumed otherwise, but when I tried to "Process" another list, a huge error message popped up showing all the new list's MPs, and claiming that they were not "identified" in the template I'd saved.

Let's hope it's early stages for this otherwise great idea.
2 Not that I know of, I just Uncheck it
So, once you've filled up the Settings list for a device or preset with unchecked boxes, you've got to build another version all over again, just to get a new empty Settings panel? I do get that you can change both the controller and the target for any slot whenever you want…

But even this panel has many hidden depths and undocumented features (see the 2nd, 3rd, 4th posts from the bottom of page 1 in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=138&t=525196), and a few days ago I tried to explore them, with a lot of experimental clean slates, and to get to each new one I had to open browser, re-initialize preset, load new module to experiment on, open fresh Settings panel, etc, just to do that. Hmmph!

You could save an empty list as a Preset!

As for documentation' I have often displayed the Info in a browser, then pasted it into MS Word, marked up suggested changes and sent it to Vojtech.

!?!?!? Freeq'n brilliant:) The Melda WAY—LOVE it! EDIT: Though this doesn't address dmbaer's spot-on desire for single-line resetting. + 1 to that!

…suggestions like, "Insert answers to these questions here…"? Or "Click here to go to tutorial video"?

Yeah, that's what I (reluctantly) resorted to when I wanted to remove an assignment. But that's messy and MSF global presets can get really complicated really quickly, so I hate leaving unnecessary junk laying around. That just leads to future confusion. A way to reset an entry in the MIDI assignments list would be a nice enhancement.

Very helpful video. Thank you! Knowing how to disable parameters will help me alot... I'm also a little embarrassed after spending so much time making sequencers using the Rhythmizer effect to see how much easier (probably more cpu efficient as well) it is by just going through an lfo... :dog:
Thanks again!

Thanks everyone. AFAIK the best way to coear midi assignments is to make a blank preset. A way to erase it would be nice.

I’d like to answer the template question, but to be honest even I don’t know what it is supposed to do. I tried using it, but I couldn’t understand what it was supposed to do. Hopefully Vojtech will explain. It seems useful, but I can’t figure it out.

Looking at an MP Template, it looks like you can save several properties of an MP, then apply them to ("Process template") to another. It may work for Multiples too.
<p AIndex="10" AllowSteppedContinuous="0" Color="74BF60FF" EditorMode="Title enable button" Group="Saturator" GroupColor="80808000" Lockable="0" Origin="0" PanelType="Panel 1" Randomizable="1" Resizable="1" ResizableY="0" SeparateCollapse="0" ShowName="1" Visible="1">
AIndex is the MP number -1.

And, If you want to change several MPs, you could edit the template in a text editor. :o

Exactly! The template stores the requested information about the selected MPs and them applies them to the MPs you process by searching for them using Name & Group. It can change the indices (which is relevant for the instrument design) and set the visual properties.

huh?!?

See, I SAID this needed a video!

OK, here's another topic that could use another gui video: Meters. How, when, where, interesting uses/what for? Difference between the control type and the behaviour type, etc. TIA!

I plan a whole series about the GUI design. But first I want to sort of stabilize things, videos are impossible to update so...
