So there are plans for "Spectral synthesizer" module in MSoundFactory, what is it?

I see in the official website some info about this, what is it? will it have some spectral editor like izotope iris that allows the user to edit and take elements from the spectrum of imported samples? it says probably image based, that would be interesting, but limited, if it is what I think.

If this module will have spectrum editor would be awesome, the only synth I have seen doing something like this is Izotope Iris 2.

Would be totally cool. But there are synths out there like Tone2 Icarus3 and I highly doubt that a module inside of MSF would reach such a versatile depth. But it would be great nevertheless to have the option to mix it with the other modules.

It wouldn't work only on pictures, it would take a sound and convert it into a picture. From there you could export the picture, alter it and then import the picture. A program like photoshop will be able to more detailed and interesting things than any audio based product, so we'd have the best of both worlds. All spectrum based synths do this, but some don't allow you to export the spectral data as a picture. That fact that is image based gives me hope that it will be flexible. I hope a spectral filter is included too.

This is a niche that is ripe for plunder, since Camel was purchased by Apple and there’s an Alchemy shaped hole in the Windows (and non Logic users) world. Also, Izotope stupidly discontinued Iris after a halfassed attempt at making it more “accessible” to the EDM crowd by dumbing it down. With the right feature set, I could easily see MSoundFactory becoming the go-to replacement for Alchemy and Iris. Part of that feature set would need to be at least one good analog filter model that reacted properly to audio rate modulation, but then we’d sure have something.

I think that the future is bright for MSF, mainly because Melda has all attention on it adding features, and most likely i think that will be the last and unique all around synth from melda.

Yes, I've been speculating along exactly those same lines. Since the departure of Camel/Alchemy in Windows, nothing has quite emerged to replace it, and MSF has the possibility to do just that. The main thing missing in all the other possible Alchemy replacements is seriously capable resynthesis. The beauty of the MSF architecture is that deep resynthesis functionality would not even have to be there in the first release. It would make for a great target in a Version 2, and such a capability would not have to dance on the eggshells of backward compatibility.

I have yet to download MSF.
I bought MSF to see if it will replace the abandoned Absynth. Will this work?
If it ends up like an Alchemy replacement it would be great.
I will be extremely happy if WSF has an Iris like module. Very happy if it is Iris 3 like.
Looking forward to the Sample module.
And am sure there will be some great surprise module and features releases.

I definitely think so. To me it is way more versatile than Absynth. I even would nearly compare MSF to Reaktor, though (MSF compared to Reaktor might not be able to go that deep like coding C ... if I remember correct this nearly is possible in Reaktor, right? But MSF is already unbelievable complex and versatile, yet way more intuitive).

And am sure there will be some great surprise module and features releases.
