Something like minimum update cycles every 3 or at least 6 month doesn't exist at discoDSP.
I'm not either on one or other side. But some of you have strange expectations. Where are you live? there are tons of expensive software (not in music industry) you have to pay annual fee (lets say for support and maintenance) having no uptade schedule guarateed.

btw a few weeks ago I was reading gpl related discusion here. it seems George found a way how to charge you lol ;)

Aha, it's his bussiness. Don't you like it? just ignore his offer. whats the point?
The point is people cannot download software anymore they already paid for.
Introducing an annual fee is a thing he can do and people can vote with their wallets. But blocking the download of already purchased software is theft.

In the past the developer has removed products from people accounts etc, etc, etc.

Perhaps maxym.srpl is not aware of peoples growing resentment and is basing his judgement on a single thread.

More recently (in one of those other threads) he posted a picture of a man pointing a gun at us (his customers) and thought that was hilarious.

Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

discovery pro uses a serial right? so, any of us that have the installers could upload it to a dropbox like service and that's it?

That's not legal.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

That is right but i don't know if it maybe cause legal issues to do so.

not appropriate or allowed on KvR....please no further posts/responses on that subject
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

If lowering your prices doesn't work, try raising them instead!

Not sure about a summer sale, but there's a serious bush fire happening right now with an immediate threat to lives and property...

Those fires move quickly and can be quite devastating...

So there may not be anything left to sell...

They have called in the arson investigators because the cause of the fire is suspicious and they want to speak to someone called George in relation to the blaze

In the paid upgrade from 6.4 to 6.5 ($19 if I remember correctly), there was at least some reasons, but now it just doesn't sound right.

Not only it doesn't sound right, it simply isn't right. In this second you can read here at KvR and in any other place where he is seeking for new customers that for example the update for Discovery Pro to 6.8.1 is free for 6.5 and up customers. This news was from August 2018. Problem is you can't obtain your free update so this is deceptive advertising.

Also I can't find any topic in his own subforum where he inform about the 6.8 update. The last post was for the 6.7 release. Now, why for Heaven's sake a dev would not announce an update in his own subforum for existing customers like he did before? Have to think about it.:hihi:
