Yo, Björn! Check out doctorbob's violin!!! I've done only some mild modifications and this little pearl jumped out:
https://soundcloud.com/taronium/qyoool

It's just a fun little experiment and not my submission. That I posted last week a few pages back...
Anyway, check out the violin in the last half of this one! :hyper: :violin:

Rob, you rule! :hail:

It ain't over til the violin sings!
Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

... or Kate Bush ("Violin, violin!"). :singer:
Well, I thought the OSC rules clearly stated "No other instruments except the featured plug-in!" :hihi:
Well done Dr. B and Mr. T! :tu:

Cheers, Björn

Yo Taron! You made the violin sing! Very well done - a delight to the ears! :phones: Thanks for the shoutout :tu:

Of course Björn my track is *pure* Qyooo and features the violin, of course, along with a piano patch tweaked from Taron's! Not intended to be a collab, but we both enjoyed some synth programming in search of our sounds!

Enjoy, of course!

Another track, done. Truly defying the odds. 2 tracks in 2 months??
So! The Qyooo was a challenging plugin to use! Took me a while to wrap my head around its workflow. Frankly I dislike using the scene morphing, and it's reeeally rough to use for percussion (at least for my taste), but it was a blessed and humbling exercise in sound design. My filter game has strengthened. Thank you, Full Bucket. The oscillators are pretty simple, most of the focus is on the filter modulations- even though I abused ring modulation and some ghetto FM to get some more upper harmonicksss. (Since the wave samples are pretty low res and tend to lose their treble information.)

Started experimenting with a chiptune mindset, then made some patches, then decided to take it in a slightly more edm-ey way like I do everything. Texturally, it's a bit simple from the chiptune mindset, so I went much more melodic than I usually go to compensate. Learned a bunch, but I'm not sure if I'm satisfied... Do let me know what works and what doesn't!

I used 39 instances of Qyooo, but 11 are for either doubling or lazy modulation, so it's really more like 28. FX used: Fruity PMEQ2, Fruity Limiter and Fruity Reverb 2 on most, with the addition of Maximus on bass bus. In the box, bay beeeee

Isn't it funny how that worked out?! :hyper: ...awesome exchange!

Honestly, I believe to remember when you release Qyooo, if I'm not wrong. Wasn't it the same KVR Developer Challenge when I made LotS? Anyway, I thought Qyooo was a curious synth, decently made, but didn't quite know what to do with it. Now I'm so utterly impressed with what comes out of this thing. Though, there are still some strange bugs, likely voicing and eventually envelope related. "Single" is a dangerzone, when switching can lead to weird things, but a few more of weird side-effects can happen. Also there is still quite a bit of clicking with note-offs and the likes, while some of it may be related to the above troubles.
However, NONE of these troubles is a big deal considering how great it works and it works most of the time just fine. It's so good, in fact, that I wished you could consider a 2.0 with a few more possibilities. Nothing much, but just a few extra things.
Anyway, totally awesome, and- as per usual- you ROCK, Björn! 8)

That violin is spot-on.
Music can no longer soothe the worried thoughts of monarchs; it can only tell you when it's time to buy margarine or copulate. -xoxos
Discontinue use if rash or irritation develops.

It's been a break for me since OSC-99. I've tried Surge last month, I really liked the synth, played around with it but I didn't get anywhere near a finished song, this time I've decided to be a bit more practical and concentrate on the song first, so mostly sticked to the presets from Qyooo, even the drums are preset.

It feels like I'm still just learning how to use Reaper. Really amazing entries this time, need to give them a very good listen.

Woah, thanks! Changed the url, forgot to update, in a bit of a rush, but I'm checking the thread once in a while.

I know this isn't my finest composition, but I gotta be honest I had a lot of fun.
Suprise! I can do a four-on-the-floor track.
