I have a feature request for Presswerk.

According to my analysis the 1176 with high input level and all buttons mode has a exp release curve.
With 10 db to 20 db gain reduction I get a real dirty pumping sound and in this situation the release curve is exponential and looks a bit like 'x^2.8'.

I can't archive this in Presswerk. I tried all possible settings with PluginDoctor to see if I get get near a exp release curve.

I guess the release curve is just a small part of the sound, but I think it's a part of this pumping sound.
It would be really cool when there were more release curves possible in Presswerk.

Presswerk's gain-computing section operates in the log domain, as most 'modern' devices do. In fact, the early FET designs like on the Ureis needed to do feedback detection in order to linearize the process somewhat and make it predictable and reproducable. Having an exponential response curve is part of that design.
Even if one wraps the FB signal around in the linear domain, converting it all to log later on sounds different.
I've experimented again with compression stuff lately, and there are some ideas for a 'slam'-kind-of control on PW, but it's too early to say something conrete.

Thanks for giving such a detailed answer.
You have my +1 for experimenting with compression again 8). This pushed hard 1176 or generally speaking a better slamming/pumping sound with good control (means you can also easily setup the right feeling via the release to get the rhythm right + very short release times are possible + good control about the pumping amount) would be amazing to have in Presswerk.

I really enjoy PW otherwise.
