Could we have the standard Oscillator controls available to use for shaping the Operators within the FM module?

This would be indeed a nice feature, the operators are a little bit too common, ordinary and limited without more deep customization for the different operators/oscillators shape (just saw, sine, square, triangle...).

This would make it more deep and versatile.

Definitely wish that FM Module would accept any oscillator available within MSoundFactory. There must be some architecture issue/decision behind the current limited selection of oscillator shapes.

This is all about performance. If you mean stuff like transformations etc., then I'm afraid that won't happen. You can always use Merger and FM between whatever you want .

But...maybe...any STATIC waveshape?

When using Merger, there is no FEEDBACK options (or is there?).

So even emulating the Yamaha TX81Z will be a challenge now. E.g the (in)famous Lately Bass.

Maybe provide the ( sine + 7 other ) TX81Z waveshapes?


Maybe also the extra 8 SY77/99 waveshapes (TX81Z + 8, user manual pages 134, 135)?

Well, I don't think that makes too much sense really - there's like infinite waveshapes, and all they do is produce different harmonics. Sure we could include more, but the ones included now are sort of the "most important" and they are "well optimizable", the ones you showed not so much (though the partial sines would be fine probably).
