ill at least try to be constructive here - somebody has to i guess (heehee) ...

... intial reactions (and i understand this is only in development still) ...

1 - the blue version is better

2 - i would add a blue bevel / border down the sides too - to visually 'contain' the pads and knobs

3 - i like the minimal dials but wouldnt have the pointer overlapping the scale markings since it looks a bit messy

4 - i assume the fonts for labels and values will change ??? (a kind of LED style font might work well for the values readouts at least ??? )

5 - put the pad numbers ON the pads to remove some visual clutter in that area of the GUI

yes

tha was in the first pic, but the bevel seemed not nice (or not ugly enough)

edit: ah, maybe you mean the left and right side of
the whole window (?)
3 - i like the minimal dials but wouldnt have the pointer overlapping the scale markings since it looks a bit messy
good idea I'll try that
4 - i assume the fonts for labels and values will change ??? (a kind of LED style font might work well for the values readouts at least ??? )
ok I'll think about that, but I like to keep them simple
5 - put the pad numbers ON the pads to remove some visual clutter in that area of the GUI
yes ot just making them smaller, I also don't like them so far

I think it looks too...um...."PhotoShop"ish. .....or maybe the word is "pastel"ish....or maybe even "Clay"ish. :hihi:
I don't know......Always hated the original GUI of AO's DK1....think the 3D soft is the way to go...but maybe in a more "Plastic" or "Metal" sense? I don't know......either way, it's gonna include some phat drum kits that i put together....so it'll be good no matter what. :P

Peace! 8)

I think it would look better if the controls weren't 3D. Keep the shadows from the border elements, but remove or reduce the bevels on the controls. The top half has always looked pretty good. It's just the lower half with the pads that needs to be straightened out.

IMO. :)
