how do i keep a delay going for a couple of seconds after my loop is finished. i notice when i add a delay it will work until the clip is over and immediately stop. i want a tail on it for a couple of seconds.

I don't know about the best way, but you could add a short sample or note at an adequate distance at the end of your track, and then render to just before that when you finalise. You could put it on a track on its own and set that track's volume to zero. I'm sure there's a better way and someone will tell us what it is soon.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Well, the way I do in my tracks is adding an automation track with the delay plugin and activate ("mix" option with most plugins) in the last part of your desire track

Probably just adding an empty MIDI clip the length you want the delay to play out for
