I think that there are a few people making more studied material on Blog, Video etc. but they tend to be ignored (and even abused) by the masses so the ever-present "sort by popularity" model means that they become invisible, often even on the day they are released. This is where Subscribing helps, but even then only a bit as all the other shallow but popular stuff still gets all the social proof.

Subscribing would require me to have a Google account. Those bastards already know far to much about me, they ain't get anything voluntarily.

Nice forum to post some newbie videos Other than that I bet most of you didn't watch the video till the end, so you don't know what the guy is talking about or his skills! But the guy states clearly " " I think" the biggest mistake is ..." so he thinks and is not trying to play the teacher!

The problem with YT (and all of Social Media - well people really) is that it is all too often a popularity contest, not based on ability to make & deliver something amazing, merely to be noticeable. Once people are more concerned with the lighting or mic used than the content things are really wrong.

Precisely. To see the proof of this you need look no further than the dates that so many of these videos are posted. People are far more concerned with getting their video out first than they are with providing any useful content.

What happens is that you buy something , like a Roli Seaboard Block for example. You get it home, you set it up and you realise that it does a lot more stuff than you thought, so you go to YouTube to find some videos to help you discover more about it. The trouble is, you do a search and all the results are from idiots who did an unboxing video and spent the same 40 minutes you just spent stuffing around trying to figure out what it can do, then posted it to so they'd get in before everyone else. But what you actually need is a well considered video from someone who has had the thing for a few months and knows it inside-out. You never get those videos because no-one who puts a video on YouTube is just trying to be helpful, they all have other goals in mind.

I remember watching a 20+ minute YT video about the review of Dune 3 and it came out within the 1st 24 hrs of its release! How can you possibly review any in depth synth in one day? The whole video was full of "ums", long pauses, "I don't know what this does, but" statements & the like. Its horrible. The sad thing is I expect the internet to have atleast 20 of these videos for Massive X.

Yeah! Every time I respond to one of your post, I then get flooded with ads for osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, dog treats and Trump branded T-bone steaks so maybe you’re onto something (unlike Vurt who is just on something).

Yup, the moment I purchased The Orchestra, everywhere ads for The Orchestra. Talk about wasted budget. Wait 3 months then hit me with Emotional Strings or something. Sadly marketers are often more concerned with showing how active they were instead of how effective they were. Which of course, puts us right back where we were - inane over profane (or something like that)

Yes, the "targeted advertising" thing is stupid. I'm often looking into a product, normally via the products official site/store, then I leave and advertising for the thing I was just looking at is EVERYWHERE... it's like "Yeah... you're targeting me because I just looked at a product on the product's official website... therefore; I know that product exists... you don't need to advertise it to me."

I don't entirely mind the targeting bit. They know I am interested in Product X so Products Y & Z could be likely contenders too. The problem is that the targeting is still too dum (or I suspect slapdash) which makes it seem insulting instead of hopeful or helpful.

So I decided to watch it (kinda) and it's a ton of captain obvious stuff. Not that I'm some genius, just that of course levels and pan are primary and FX are secondary.

This video fits into that category of youtube vids that have someone talk too much and show too little (which is why I skipped some of it.

I'd rather have had examples vs. blurp. There didn't seem to be much if any of that.

Yep, that Andrew Huang dude pops up in my YT feed all the time but one look at the expression on his stupid face and I know I am never clicking on anything that dick does. (Of course, I am only assuming he's a dick because of that stupid expression on his stupid face. He might be a lovely guy with some genuine insights to share but I'll never know because I won't watch is videos.)

That's not good man, what if it was you , and your face there and someone posted this? You at least say that he might be a good guy and that's something. You maybe said this for fun...who knows
But I have a feeling, people on KVR want to diminish other people....
Especially very old members like 10-15-20 years longevity.... why? Actually what am I doing? the whole internet is f#@#$ up. too mean comments all over the internet, everybody wants to express his bad self and opinions (like me now) freely and anonymously. dislikes on good videos and so on, this sucks! can't handle this, I am a goodwill person, and I am so disappointed seeing these kind of comments and expressions. don't know what you think about this

Not every human has to be a saint and if you've been around here long enough, then you'd know this is not out of line with anything Bones has posted about before... In fact, he may have gone soft in comparison to some of his previous posts.

As for all of KVR, no one person speaks for all of us, including you as a member of KVR (yes, you are apart of the group that you claim are diminishing other people, while simultaneously diminishing other people, so maybe you're right from your perspective).

You claim to be bothered with his comments, but what makes you think that somehow you sound any better by lumping every member here with more than 10 years on this site, when most of them haven't done what you accuse them of. Considering your post, you're gonna have to make an exception and include the 5 year members just to have your post make a little more sense.

No one is perfect and your post clearly shows that, but you're entitled to your opinion just like anyone else so quit being so dramatic and let people have an opinion. You are more than free to state yours.

I didn't mean all of old members, my bad, just think that for myself that many of old "seadogs" here make comments that make the other guys feel bad. maybe I am wrong totally. I just have that feeling . I didn't want to include all older members of course, my bad if I didn't said that right, my english are not my native language and I am not the best at it! anyway, I just didn't like that this guy is calling Andrew a dickface , allthough I feel the same! hahahaha
