As a Bazille owner, I always ignored Ace because I always saw it as just a watered down version of Bazille. But I've heard that Ace has some better analog modeling. Is that true?

Ace is more classic analog subtractive... PWM, Osc Sync, the classic waveforms. It's an under-rated little synth. It is also normalized so you can do a whole lot without needing wires and then when you want to re-wire it, you can.Sound Author wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2019 5:12 pm As a Bazille owner, I always ignored Ace because I always saw it as just a watered down version of Bazille. Same here. Had Bazille and thought ACE was something lesser/redundant, so I ignored. Then this year, I went seeking analog percussion sounds and found a bunch of great stuff in the ACE community library ... Wound up buying ACE a few days later.Sound Author wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2019 5:12 pm As a Bazille owner, I always ignored Ace because I always saw it as just a watered down version of Bazille. In fact, the community library for ACE has got a lot of good stuff! I guess that's when I realized ACE is a different animal.
Btw, the KYHON-Mun_Mtshams_2 library has a patch called "MidY 1" and it's a true gem. Just push the mod wheel up and say "wow"

Even though they look kinda similar they are completely different when it comes to sound. Bazille is a very digital sounding synth and sounds more gritty thanks to PD and FM and can create some very experimental sounds. ACE sounds and behaves analog, and has the fatter/fuller analog warmth to it with some gritt. I always end up using ACE for basses and sub basses as no other synth on the market seems to be able to make that same combination of warmth and gritt as ACE.Sound Author wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2019 5:12 pm As a Bazille owner, I always ignored Ace because I always saw it as just a watered down version of Bazille.
