What ir might be? E.g. a modern developer /marketing follows the major audio plugin Forums.
In this way they can a) communicate with their clients, b) gather valuable user feedback of their products, c) market their upcoming products and/or test ideas of the new feature.

I understand, that not all Forum threads can be followed, but Kvr is the major one in its field.

If the developer can't tolerate a harmles comment after 1,5 ignorance of the thread, can't help.

I've actually sent at least two emails to regarding orange vocoder IV, one time got a response that didn't' address my question, but answered another question in the email. The other time I got nothing.

The vocoder is still being worked on. No legal issues or other "biggies" – we ran into some unanticipatedly time-consuming stuff, and we also needed to get some other stuff out the door (ACID Pro Next etc). Once something is a *little* late, chances go up exponentially that it gets delayed MORE because of other factors.

Anyway, thank you all for your patience and continued interest – OV4 will be totally worth the wait

Any rough ETA and is it ilok? Also the sonic differences from the old Steinberg version.

We don't have a new release date to share at this point, but we're aiming for "this summer". Like all of our stuff, we use PACE, yes, but you can activate to HD so no hardware iLok required. It's come a LONG way since Steinberg, really no comparison there.

Well, we do sometimes bottleneck on manpower, especially during trade-shows or promos/sales, so my apologies if we did indeed miss an email. That said, what question wasn't addressed (and what made you hesitate to reply to our reply asking for clarification...)?

I've been using it like that since the very beginning, except for very beautiful stuff, instead of cold and inhuman.

Ah...sorry if this is a bit if a tease but YES it is good for all sorts of stuff The new guy sounds so snappy it even makes sense for processing drums. The pitch quantizer sounds like a laser beam and has glide and bend as well as an AR envelope for the gating effects it loves making. Combining multiple guitars is cool too. Combining the voice synthesis modes with the pitch quantizer in scale mode (wrapping to the base octave for a more natural sound), and layering in the synth...you get instant Chain Smokers flavored awesomeness (super cool band IMHO) simply by playing some chords. Using the audio freeze in combo with the other stuff it's very easy to make drones - combines nicely with adaptiverb in terms of flavor. And the synth is great in its own right - not as feature-rich as some dedicated synths, but it has a very present, "physical" sound that's somehow "warm" and "crystal clear" at the same time (ugh, these words have REALLY seen too much marketing use eh)...and extremely low in aliasing (the oscillators are actually aliasing free). Oh and it has thru-zero linear FM and audio rate LFOs, too.
