Examples:
1. A audio OSC could be wired up to modulate the filter cutoff of a Filter.
2. A 2nd OSC can modulate another OSCs pitch.
Current: Situation: To my knowledge only specific modules in MSF allow to be modulated by another OSC, like the FilterFollower. appart from that it's not possible. This lacks a general approach like seen in other modular environments.
Solution proposal 1 (prefered):
1. Introduce a "Use as modulator" module in the generator.
2. Arbitrary signal paths can be "terminated" with such a module.
3. "Terminated" paths will not add to the audio output.
4. The "Use as modulator" has a setup page similar to the modulators, i.e. it can be routed to modulate any parameter that is available
Solution proposal 2:
1.) Add a 4th tab to "global", "generator" and "fx" by the name of "modulator signals".
2.) Design modulation signals there.
3.) the modulations signals finaly end in one of the 6 output ports.
4.) then on "generator" add 6 new modulation source which represent the output ports of the "modulator signals" tab.
5.) These can then be wired up like ENV, LFO, Random, etc.
The second option is a bit more restricted because in proposal 1 I can use an OSC and wire it to the audio output and in parallel into a path which is finally terminates in "Use as modulator"...Melda will love this because a OSCs pitch could then be modulated by the OSC itself...
