1. What is a User VST Plugin Directory?
Perhaps and extra VST Path if Needed?
If so why not say so?
Well I tried do use it as an additional path and it did not work.
Obviously I am wrong about this.
FYI I do not develop my own VST's.
2. I have become accustomed to a single "click here" to update.
Click here and search for the update download link then look and find and read the proper instructions.
In this case when I did finally get to the install window everything was explained properly.
User VST plugin directory.

Hi,
1. Here is an excerpt from the manual explaining the role of both paths:
1. Here is an excerpt from the manual explaining the role of both paths:
2. You simply need to download the installer and launch it for an update. Would you like it to be done straight from the plug-in / application itself? In the preferences pane, you can set the default VST plug-ins path by clicking on it or on the button labelled "...". This VST plug-ins directory is used for several purposes:
It is the default directory that is opened when you want to load a VST plug-in.
It is used as the root path when saving/loading presets that include VST effects: the path of VST plug-ins is saved relatively to this root path, so that you can reopen your sessions on different machines that may have different VST paths (typically on a Mac and a PC).
If you happen to have your VST plug-ins installed in several paths, we advise you to choose the VST path that contains most of your plug-ins. You can then use the "User VST plug-ins directory" to define an extra location for plug-ins. This extra path will be used by the PatchWork plug-in as an alternative root path to load and save the plug-ins.
Please note that these paths are used for VST2 plug-ins only - they do not affect the location of VST3 plug-ins.
