MSF Frame border ?

When there are dialog boxes here and there it can become a bit tedious to spot where is a dialog box top frame part finishes. It's a minor point, but would there be a way to make the frames stand out just a tiny bit, not too much ?

Here for instance there's the main MSF frame plus the arp frame. To close the arp frame its 'X' has to be spotted. Might not be easy to see on this screen shot below, simply align both frames.

The thin frame border is the same colour as the window header, it's part of the same structure. Modifying that thin border to add distinctiveness between superimposed dialog boxes would also modify the window header. Still, it could be a useful touch to be able to quickly but subtly tell apart a dialog box from another.

I'd suggest setting the border color to something like red. It would look ugly, but then it would be easy to spot. I'm afraid I found no solution that would look good and work well in this matter at the same time.

That's actually a very bad idea. I don't even read the topics like "MSF ideas", because in that case there would be no time for development left

We do that on a dedicated professional platform . Not by flooding someone else's public forum with new threads for every single issue.

Look, I did not like you derogatory statements about MSF in the 'Instruments' section which is quoted again and again in subsequent replies. That comment of yours which consisted entirely of the following:

When you do not seem to have any sense of order regarding reporting bugs in a clear and effective way ? Vojtech himself said that he does not read the general 'MSF Ideas' thread because things are all over the place. This is very natural. It's much more efficient to report, underline anything on a per-thread basis than piling up stuff in 35+ pages of a single thread.

Now get on with it. From your initial "I am a musician, me" comment in 'Instruments' you seem to have move a bit forward towards MSF (and Melda plugins) to the point of even writing in this here section. You did not like that I pinpoint your crude remark in 'Instruments', but then, get over it. Starting to comment on 'flooding' here is at a minimum, ironic.

I was deceived by the tone of many people in 'Instruments' regarding the MSF, such a low level intellectual stance, based on sneers and mockery, please do not bring that here.

I will most certainly not contribute further than this.

1. When I set the border color to any color, overlapping borders still will melt together. How exactly did you mean it?

2. Maybe another solution would be to just higher the alpha level of the "Inactive window overlay"? Regarding this: is there a way to change it for all plugins at once?


Regarding the "flooding": of course it is better to have one thread for an issue. Best with a good topic caption so things stay clear and organized. I find it totally self-evident.

Can be done, by modifying the Style in the Textured Style Editor. Here I used the Highlight colour (and reduced the border width), but it could be, e.g. mid-grey.

This is the Melda forum, there is nothing wrong with the topic asking for questions and understanding about different issues, after all in topic of the overall products: Melda. That's why each developer has his own forum.

Ah, ok. What a bummer. I was hoping for some native solution. Maybe Vojtech could add such a thin greyish border for the default style? I can imagine it quite stylish and helpful at the same time.
