Also really love that they have a tiny mw. It's better than nothing and is vital for the sound design process. It shows they "get it".

Unfortunately, the only two I have (Cameleon 5000 and Alchemy) are 32-bit programs, and there will never be 64-bit versions of either of those for a Windows system. (Thanks, Apple! :tantrum: )
Alchemy IS 64-bit and has been for a decent amount of time before Apple swallowed CA up.
Unfortunately, I only have a 32-bit installation of Alchemy, version 1.20.1.

I don't suppose anyone knows where I could get a 64-bit Windows installer for Alchemy? :help:

This.

It's really hard to sell me a software synth anymore.
:tu:

Many people like to tell the world on KVR about all of the new toys that they have bought, but not so much about the music they have made with the tools the already have :!:

Most of us are suffering from system overload and always installing updates and working out why this is not going so well with that...

It can be quite time consuming and time is our most valuable resource while we are here on this earth...

There are always two sides to the story...

When we introduce something new into our existing workflow,it can inspire us,but it can also waste a lot of precious time...

The truth is,that is most music, basic tools can help us to put together the sounds we need to realise the end result.

We really don't need to get bogged down in what is modulating this or what is synced to that...

One of the main goals in music us to modulate the heart of the listener and if we can achieve that by tapping a stick on the ground, then the tools have served their purpose...

There is no need to complicate things,or to put more and more obstacles in the way of the final product appearing at the master buss...

Sometimes too many choices make it too hard to make the one move that matters
So, when you gonna buy Massive X? :P

I do not own Massive X but this is some very inspirational video. Guess I will fire up Reaktor and see if I can setup something similar. My takeaway from this video is to experiment with using sources that are not intended as audio sources as audio source input for further effects and elements down the line. Thanks!

It was 64-bit since 1.2 afair. Maybe somone can provide you an installer for it.

Jesus christ, I've spent now couple of hours in the more experimentative sound design side of it all and honestly Massive X stands tall on its own. I was pretty impressed with the normal stuff but once you veer off into the realm of its... other capabilities... things get much, much more interesting.

Basically, you can get Arca-esque sounds with this thing without even going that much into modulation and automation. I want to make a demonstration but this patch is a mess + my skills with keyboard are shameful to say the least (for now). But regardless, here's a quick example. This patch has muuuuuuch more variety than this snippet, from stuff that sounds like a mix between a fog horn and a string quartet trying to play the same note (and failing at it) to things I can't even describe (but again, I haven't assigned that much stuff yet): https://picosong.com/wN84K/

There's no outboard effects here, only what's inside MX.

Yeah I have had lots of fun with single patches that appear to be multiple sounds depending just on expression, I can be playing a drone and lead and with semi random shuffly noise sounds going on all at the same time with a single patch

I have a 64-bit one on my Dropbox. Will PM it to ya.

Honestly random & jitter mode + this particular comb makes Massive imho far more capable synth than most of what you have in market. The sound design possibilities with these two take it to a whole new level even though it's nothing necessarily _super new_ since Softube Modular + Reaktor both have nice PM modules. When you combine these with more traditional subtractive synthesis, you essentially get a really easy way of doing complicated things

Where's the scope on this thing? Come on, a tiny scope in the top bar or in the patching area is all I need

Wow there are some presets which are just phenomenal and with only 2 oscs!
I think the bread and butter sounds come later but im not really motivated using such a bad designed ui for bread and butter sounds. In all fame of ni and its nice sound the ui is bad and massive x feels not finished but rushed and many aspects too old school. Im a fan since serum to use our new user friendly uis.

As massive is used a lot for bass etc i find massive x presets lacking and not impressed. But in pads, bells etc there are so awesome patches and they learbed me how to make some nice modulations.

The lfo selector is so bad and wacky designed and everything feels so unresponsive with the mouse.

After all those years the sequel to massive x feels for me not like a step up but just different. It is nice on its own and has a lot of potential but as a sequel and 2019 product and from ni im disappointed. Im looking forward to updates and 3rd party patches.

I had the same problem with the demo. I then installed Native Access and reinstalled the demo through Native Access. Then it worked.

Ahh, nice, will give that a try then when I have the time. Cheers.

Design your own!

Seriously, at least if you're into reeses, you will LOVE MX reeses. I'm a huge reese fan and I finally think I have the perfect solution for everlasting reeses after making just one with MX.

if you're into wubdub stuff then I guess tough luck, but there's plenty of ways to make them happen in MX. For instance, you could try the gorilla mode. I wasn't all too excited about it after testing it out mostly because it was clearly oriented towards wubdub stuff
