Komplete Kontrol M32 with Waveform 10

Does this happen for others?
I find that if I open Waveform something happens with the Komplete Kontrol M32 Midi input. Even if KK is not loaded as a plugin and even if KK M32 Midi and KK M32 M Daw are not enabled, the midi port is disrupted. Trying subsequently to enable KK M32 Midi results in the Waveform message "Couldn't open the midi port". The port is also subsequently unavailable for other programmes as well - Reaper for example. The only way forward I have found is to disconnect the keyboard and start again. If I use KK with other programmes there is no problem … but as soon as I open Waveform ….
Any thoughts, tweaks or suggestions gratefully received!

so after updating my new m32 do the latest firmware (.38?), this is what I've found works in Waveform when using setting it as a control surface (KONTROL M DAW via MCU, Mac running 10.14.x): Play, Stop, and the jog wheel scrubs and the joystick moves through the tracks left/right and up/down. Oddly though Record does nothing and pressing Loop, instead of doing what you'd think it would do, engages the click track
. And I was hoping pressing the m32's Shift key might enable further functionality like it does in Garage Band (vol becomes pan etc.), but that's a solid "No."
Since the MIDI codes are split between two different outputs, M DAW and m32 (i.e the knobs), doing a custom mapping from Settings->Control Surface doesn't seem to work either since you have to select one or the other output. Unless there is a way to select both I'm not aware of. For some reason, remapping MIDI from within the main interface doesn't work at all, clicking on a feature just gets an endless "Waiting" for input no matter what surface is moved. Sadly, this is something either NI or Tracktion would have to fix.
I'm finding it very hit and miss which plug-ins support remapping of the m32 knobs too.
I guess I should be happy any of it works at all.
