I solved the Logic MIDI problem initially by running Kontakt as a vst in another sequencer (Live) and sent the output back to Logic with the IAC driver. (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=495526) Eventually I bought BlueCat's Patchwork plugin, which can run as an AU MIDI FX and host VSTs, sending MIDI out to the track it's on; works great; $100. Plogue Bidule can do this also I've heard.someone called simon wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 4:55 am I got one of the midi arp instruments in the group buy, but have had no luck making it work in Logic or mainstage.
Does anyone know if any of these Kontakt sequencers/loopers/arps work with the apple stuff? I can't load Kontakt as a midi effect (doesn't appear as an option), and if I load it as an instrument, I'm pretty sure there's no way to send the midi to another instrument (even another Kontakt instrument in the same stack), despite having the options to 'send midi to the outside world' set up correctly within Kontakt. I'm aware there may be options by routing midi out of logic somehow and back in using some tricks, but I don't really want to do that.
Another good thread on the AU MIDI FX topic:

You can also run Kontakt as a stand-alone app and send to Logic using IAC, but I never could get that working as well as when using Live to host it.
A cheaper Mac DAW that can run VSTs is Reaper, which just like Live, can both send to out to Logic and easily send Kontakt MIDI to other plugins it's hosting, skipping Logic altogether. But when you gotta have Sculpture or Alchemy, either will do them well, too.
