Created a percussion loop with MT-Power Drum Kit and added some delay, but when I export it, the timing of the delay effect is all over the place - a complete mess.
I had to bounce the percussion track down as an audio clip onto another track for it to export successfully.
How do I avoid having to do this?

If you haven't already, try doing the render out with "Render at 1x Play-Speed" turned on. This would help to rule out a delay plugin that is not correctly interpreting the clock from the DAW and is for whatever reason using the real-time clock instead.
