I have been using Melda Production plugins for years, but only on recorded audio, I don't do any work with MIDI or keyboards. I purchased M Sound Factory to some of the audio samples I have. I have read through the online documentation, and viewed several of the tutorial videos.
I am stuck with something very basic. How do I get sound out of the plugin?? I use Logic Pro and created a software instrument track using MSF. I can have MSF analyze my audio file and create a wavetable. But then ??? I can't figure out how to hear any sound, and my question is so basic that it is not addressed anywere.
Do I need to get a MIDI keyboard? I am using the screen instrument keyboard in Logic, but that has no effect. I added MIDI notes in the Piano Roll editor, but no sound. I tried to load a preset (I figured Irish Flute would be calming after all this) but no sound.
Please help. Thanks
Very very basic MSF question

OK. I just discovered that other presets will play the MIDI note I created in the piano roll editor, just not Irish Flute, unless the Irish Flute is a silent instrument

I confirm: the Irish Flute sound has no sound generators in it. Maybe a hidden Leprechaun feature in MSF ?

To show how modular is MSF, you can copy the settings eg. from the flute sound into the Irish flute patch:
From the flute sound, save the whole Generator setup under a file name of say, "AFlute". Then copy the Envelope settings using the button in green (the yellow one is used for pasting later) :
Then load the Irish Flute sound and using the same Generator button, load the saved 'AFlute' generator setup. Then paste the copied envelope.
