I can see very few of you have any musical training whatsoever.
That’s okay, enjoy pushing your buttons.

I love how MX arouses so much controversy
I don't know/remember any other synth to be so MASSIVEly argued in recent years (but I don't follow topics of synths that I'm not interested in).
My toilet time is so entertaining now. Thank you guys

Stop insulting people!pdxindy wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 2:54 pmSeems like some of you live in great fear of being brainwashed into deleting MX against your will... must suck to be so weak mindedchk071 wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 2:43 pmClaiming with self importance that you have the one proper opinion why someone else should uninstall his plugin IS being full of yourself. He made a video explaining what he liked and didn't like and specifically in comparison to the original Massive. The points he made were factually accurate... how much they matter to an individual is subjective of course.Elektronisch wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 1:50 pm
After watching that one, i got an understanding the guy is so full of himself he was expecting a synth tailored to what he wants and needs.

Yes! The aux Mod and feedback is special.pdxindy wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 5:11 pmWhat is a filter useful for?Functional wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 4:21 pmMay I ask: why? Aside from FM and RM, what else really is audiorate modulation useful for? I don't mean to come off negative here, I just am genuinely curious whenever I'm missing something here in terms of practical usecases for audio rate modulationpdxindy wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 4:06 pm And in this case, I would rather have the MX audio rate modulations!
Audio rate modulations shape the sound. They are another tool. In MX you have the Aux module which can modulate the Osc(s) from any point in the signal chain. Add that together with the flexible feedback routing and MX is very capable in this area.

Yeah but I don't get it: what parameter are you exactly modulating with audio rate modulation?pdxindy wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 5:11 pmWhat is a filter useful for?Functional wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 4:21 pmMay I ask: why? Try using a noise source for the aux mod to modulate a wavetable.Functional wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 5:58 pmYeah but I don't get it: what parameter are you exactly modulating with audio rate modulation?pdxindy wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 5:11 pmWhat is a filter useful for?Functional wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 4:21 pmMay I ask: why? Speaking of filters, maybe EvilDragon knows, these are just straight up ports of Reaktor filters? They seem different to me.

If they're not straight up ports then they are very much "inspired by." There has been renewed interest in the Grobian filter and I have seen at least one Reaktor upload claiming to be a ZDF variant of it. I haven't looked, but it caught my attention because the Grobian filter is a filter with a delay (as in full blown audio delay, not just one or two samples), in the feedback path.perpetual3 wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 6:48 pm Speaking of filters, maybe EvilDragon knows, these are just straight up ports of Reaktor filters? I wonder where the Blue in Blue Monark comes from, Blue Matrix? I don't know. I definitely like that they've found inspiration from their own Reaktor History so more information would be of interest. That stuff should definitely be in the manual, by that I mean, that "I think" that it should be in the manual.

They're not straight up ports of Reaktor filters. Sure some were used as starting points, but they're reworked/reimagined/updated.
Also Groian is apparently not a typo, I've been told. Not sure if it's related to the Grobian filter at all.

That’s what I thought. Just a basic osc → flt sounds so good.EvilDragon wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 7:28 pm They're not straight up ports of Reaktor filters. Sure some were used as starting points, but they're reworked/reimagined/updated.

As far as Groian vs Grobian, groian is a terrible name, might as well call it the crotch filter.

Definitely needs an undo. Way to easy to mess up the performer and no way to go back.
Actually my wrist is hurting from using that UI. Never had that before.

It's because too much mouse movement is required to move the dials from 0 to maximum. It's twice as much as other synths.Stefken wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2019 8:13 pmActually my wrist is hurting from using that UI. Never had that before.
