Block copy/paste of MPs was one of the most significant improvements to come out of Melda in … like forever. However, there’s something more I’d like to ask for.

When pasting in MP values, the editor makes a valiant effort to find a target. If the exact module/parameter is not present, it guesses and usually gets it wrong. But worse, there’s no notification that this happened. Without rigorous testing, we can easily miss the error.

So, several things come to mind. First, how about a dialog box stating that exact matches were not available for whatever MPs that applies to? Put that information in a form that can be copy/pasted/saved-for-later-reference. Second, don’t try to even guess if the exact target isn’t there. Have a new special target called “disconnected”. Even better, if the information is available as to the name/location of the original target, include that information as a comment after “disconnected” so we have a better shot at figuring out what the correction should be. Or just put that information in the warning dialog to be saved for future reference.

This is a great idea. When you use lots of multiparameters it is very easy to get lost.

I agree that it is problematic when doing complex stuff. There are unfortunately quite hard problems - when you load an old projects, in which the IDs have changed somehow for technical reasons, the matching works there and this would cause problems. But I'll check if this could be displayed when pasting stuff.

If the information is not there or inaccurate, then don't bother with that part. But just a simple warning like "Multiparameter 109, target 2 may not be correct after paste" would be extremely useful, even without further clues as to what the fix should be.

This sounds very much like what I was requesting - nice! Thanks.

But where did you see this? The email said check the download web page for a list of changes, but I couldn't find such a list there.

I couldn't find it either at first.
On the website, go to instruments, MSF, then there is a button there that says "Changes" or something like that.
