will endeavor to focus on the subject at hand, and (try to) rein in some of my, uh baser instincts. maybe others would do the same?....
Agreed.

My claws come out when I see too much whining; I will do my best to restrain that impulse. :D
Nothing is perfect. People have the freedom to constructively criticize MX, which despite a phenomenal sound is far from perfect. Critique isn’t whining.

I’ve asked a bunch of questions which simply remain unacknowledged. No problem, but the discourse seems dominated by frivolity and an irrational defense of the synth despite its flaws.

I’m much more interested to here and see what all y’all are doing with the synth, issues you’ve encountered and workarounds.
and another 'baiting' post. critique isn't whining, true; whining is whining.. and there's lots of that on this thread.

defending MX isn't (necessarily) 'irrational'; i like this thing, like it's sound, and hope to see flaws addressed over later iterations. how rational is that?
Please. I did not bait you. I did not say that defending is irrational. I said that the discourse is dominated by irrational defense, in the sense of a response to a legitimate critique.
honestly, am only reading what you wrote, am not adept at reading between the lines.

and, there's as much whining on this thread as there is 'constructive criticism'; plus, you seem to think it's all about you: "i've asked a bunch of questions..."... like you're being ignored, or it's our job to address your particular concerns.

MX is very-much a point-1 version; but i'm glad it's out there now, because i am getting use out of it. and it will get better.

am looking forward to more genuine, constructive discussion.. and hope the whining dies down...

I produced 1 track with 99% MX (from leads to drums) with basic mix.
- Issue 1: assigning parameters to knobs on top instead of direct midi learn function: I simply did what I had to do. I survived. But it may affect workflow even if it's not taking that much time
- Saving presets and changing author name every single time: once again the same solution of simply doing it. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V. Annoying, very alloying when it's 10 or more presets to save at once.
- Static ADSR images: the simplest and the best solution; I'm using my ears - and I don't need animated graphic anymore. Of course would be nice to have it but I can live without it. Maybe it's even a plus. Today people make music based on what they see on the screen instead of what they hear.
- Unknown functionality (lack of manual): experimentation solved most of it

Seriously, dude, I’ve re-read what I wrote and I can’t for the life of me see why you would think I’m baiting anybody. Reading between the lines? I pretty much copied verbatim what I originally wrote.

Edit: if you read carefully, I used my questions as examples of on topic and constructive posts, followed by “no problem.” As in, not an issue, not concerned about a lack of response. Instead, just more of the same frivolous banter.

Whatever, I’m out until the substance returns to thread.

now, if you could just get all the whiners and ranters to go with you, we could return to substance. MX is, flaws notwithstanding, pretty impressive, and is worth discussing seriously. :tu:

I will not fear rational critique; what irritates me is either when the criticisms are uninformed, someone is told so (a YT channel person busy making money off of generating controversy by doing same, for instance) and yet persists; or someone resorting to ad hominem attacks to defend a point.

But: let's just let it all go. Lots of factors, including post-July 4th low blood sugars or whatnot.

Reset! Back to MX, the positives and the negatives both. :)

Did they release an update recently? Was it a few hotfixes or what?

You must still be on the 1.00 release. They've fixed that.

Yeah, that was fixed in the 1.0.0.0.0.0.0.1 update.

Nothing yet; maybe this week?

i hang out here because, when it's not a war zone, it's like an AA meeting for music nerds and a comedy club rolled into one; what could be better?

while i wait for a real browser, midi control, fixes, tweaks, etc... i really am enjoying using MX. am glad i paid for it (using realtrance's money, of course). :D
