It's useful for drum tracks, sample library keyswitches and microtonal midi. A quick google search reveals that it was requested over the years, see IL forums for such topics. I hope we can see this at some point.
The only DAWs that can do it this are Reaper and Live (by creating midi effects chain).

Well I've been posting on forums since August 2000, funny enough the first one called ComputerMusic (the same owners as the magazine), but I've been part of multiple forums across the board from professional run CGI based one's like 3DBuzz, CGtalk to game based ones for EA Battlefield 3 to the long and distant Resonstation.net forums where flame wars were a daily thing you could par take in propellerheads forum, presonus ect...so literally thousands of posts and threads on various things across different sectors over the years, and I've also had training in the real world..with dealing with people.Image-Line wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2019 6:48 am Do you think I would be here if I didn't have confidence in our product? You don't think it takes or shows confidence to face up to trash talk in a hostile forum?
The main reason you don't see it, is because its invariably a no-win situation. There is nothing you can do to come out unscathed from an open discussion with the anonymous masses.
Regards Scott
Based on my long time experience, I can tell you that there is more power to you that you don't respond to 'trash talk' as you call it, because it serves you no purpose... in so many ways. You simply throw fuel on a fire by responding, and I can tell you that I've had many PM from people that have commended my restraint from those who have tried their absolute hardest to try and pull me down, to which they have all failed. It all about psychology, you win by not responding to trolls and you retain respect by others by not responding to them. If you don't, you bring yourself down and what you are trying to sell or provide in the process... if you don't.
You have a company name attached here as your user name, how you interact has reflection on the company itself, and that's the point I'm making.
Kind Regards
Scott

That's an interesting plugin. I will try it.
I didn't know that there are more than 128 notes in FL. I wonder why they offer only 132. (Composing in something like 53 equal temperament (Turkish music) or 72 (Byzantine/Eastern Orthodox church music) is impossible in any daw, because you will run out of space, so only notational software like Dorico can handle this.)

Not only Reaper and Live. This has been possible for a long time in Studio One, and if you use Impact XT, it will automatically name the pitches after the sample loaded into each pad.anomandaris1 wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2019 5:34 am There is only one crucial feature I have ever really needed that was not in FL - creating custom note names for the piano editor and saving them as templates. Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Pretty sure an entire overhaul of MIDI or MIDI scripting is in the works for FL, though whether they might wait on MIDI 2.0 if that saves some work who knows. It's something I need to make NRPN's easy for me (although MIDI 2.0 might have that within) but I don't think many others need NRPN so it's unlikely to be a major focus - they tend to do things by number of people a feature will help. They pointed out the whole Mac version was an enormous amount of work that now finished means they can spend more time on everything else.robotmonkey wrote: Mon Jul 08, 2019 4:05 pmThis is true - midi also sucks in FL Studio in many ways. What also infuriates me to no end is that FL Studio does not pass midi cc messages through to plugins by default. This means that things like Pitch Bend and mod wheel control does not work automatically in plugins. That's actually another topic Gol did not understand at all why it's annoying.gentleclockdivider wrote: Mon Jul 08, 2019 3:09 pm Fl studio is still lacking when it comes to internal midi routing , sure you can control a plugin by a midi plugin by selecting the input port , but not the channel .
Didn't this used to be possible in the past ?
Let's say loomer architect (powerhouse of a midi modular framework ) , I can control 16 independent instruments all from 1 architectvst instance and record/print the midi output on every channel .
In fl studio I only have the option to select the input port of the destination plugin , not the channel
Personally I'd love to see some advanced features added to all effects like mid/side/multiband but it can all be done in Patcher so whether they will or not who knows. I think it'd impress new users/other DAW users to have everything right in one place though. Same for an upgrade to the current synths, but any FLEXXX editor might see that become less important.
Nova II, FL20+Fire, Sytrus, Transistor Bass, DUNE 3, Thorn, Viper, ANA 2 SynthMaster, Discovery Pro, Reason, SugarBytes, SoundToys, LION, TRIAD, Plugin-Alliance, T-Racks, AmpliTube, MODO Drum/Bass, iZotope MPS 2.

What are you saying here...????THE INTRANCER wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2019 5:44 am There's one big thing that matters to me about DAW developers, and it's how they are able to accept criticism of the product they have or even that of the company. With companies like Presonus, you don't see developers posting and trying to defend any criticism they get. They listen, embrace it, and implement what needs to be done, and portray themselves as a professional company. You don't see them getting into silly arguments on public forums, and you don't see them making threads on KVR or Gearslutz either.
Sorry, but this is bullsh*t to me...
Presonus are known for deleting every posting from their forum, which sounds to negative to them...
Is this the way you like better????
Is this the way you like better, having basically a blackbox with no insight at all???
Is this the way you like more over having a company trying to get in touch with their customers, trying to be helpful, trying to be a more transparent company than closing the doors and leave you outsight...
To whom they listen???
To me and if I have a look at their updates, they listen to a handful of pros ...mostly mixing engineers... same people who doing advertising for them over the net... a little bit mixed from their "vote this" thingie, which is a blackbox too as most users do not have oversight at all to all feature requests they could vote too... and this exactly reflects the updates they brought... a little bit trying to be ProTools... a little bit of Logic... a little bit of Cubase... a little bit of everything...
And you don´t understand the value in this???Image Line, has been around for some 20 years, yet all I ever feel and see from them is, just a lack of self-confidence in their product and what people say about it...and are so quick to try and defend it as if there is something to defend.. and get embroiled in meaningless arguments about something irrelevant rather than the whole point of the topic as per earlier in this thread....It's like, I've just gone back 30 years to highschool all over again. It doesn't fill me with confidence about a product or to see a company or representative of a product do this...it just rings alarm bells..to what I might be thinking.
That just means they are humans... not just another money making machinery...
That means to me, they are proud of what they do and are defending what they do and perhaps all this makes this company even more attractive to me and I guess to many others...
And you know what: they are doing a perfect job... doesn´t matter what you throw at them... they are always kind... always patient... always helpful...
There might be a lot of justified critism about the products themselves (as this stands correct for every product on this earth) but the way they are representing themselves is for sure not part of this...
This is not the "better" way ... just the easier one... it´s just easier to ignore/blend out everything negative than to stand up and face it... nothing to be proud of!!THE INTRANCER wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2019 7:37 am Based on my long time experience, I can tell you that there is more power to you that you don't respond to 'trash talk' as you call it, because it serves you no purpose... in so many ways. It all about psychology, you win by not responding to trolls and you retain respect by others by not responding to them.
You do not win... this is "sitting out the crisis" ... again just the easier strategy and again nothing to be proud of...
And this is like always in history of mankind the difference between the brave and the rest... the ones who stand up and fight for what they believe in and the big mass which duck down and run away...If you don't, you bring yourself down and what you are trying to sell or provide in the process... if you don't.
Are you really proud to be one of the other 8 billion people never taking your life into your own hands???
This is basically all you are saying here... this is the famous group of the "nay-sayers" always trying to drag others down who stand up and try to do something different...

I can only compare with ableton but FL's zoom feel much smoother than Live, especially for vertical zooming. Probably, non-ppq graphics is sacrificing smoothness?gentleclockdivider wrote: Mon Jul 08, 2019 11:32 am Fl studio is still the only DAW where playlist zoom is still dependent on the ppqn settings , iow you can''t zoom in on sample level
Not hating , just saying .
And yes , edison comes to the rescue but doesn't remedie the underlying issue

I remember something about Scott from IL having a rich billionaire dad that funds their development and that allows them to give the software away for free...pc2000 wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2019 6:58 am On a different note... the lifetime free updates is mind blowing. I was just going to lurk and read but after reading this, I became disproportionately excited. No outward signs but inside I'm jumping in the air whilst clicking my heels together. Unfortunately, as a result, I keep teleporting between here and Oz and I kinda threw up inside myself.
Anyway.
Are we talking full playlist integration of Newtone? That's something I've wanted to see for years. But straight warp editing without having to create new clips manually would indeed be great.
I've been really happy with the amount of attention being paid to audio editing in the playlist of late.

Is there a way to get rid of the legacy (32bit only) plugins? I don't remember which they were and they pop up back again with every update I install.
Some "disable legacy plugs" option, instead of manually deleting them every time?
