Hi all,
I'm interested to compare our tastes about some "minor" bands, if you are too please help me to fill this list, rules are like this:
choose the best song in your opinion for one "minor" band (pop rock) from '50 to '90 or more, "minor" at your choice, it could be bands which you like one song only from them, but of course Beatles, Stones, Floyd, Purple, etc... are not "minor".
ok I start with few.
please feel free to comment,
ABC: Tears are not enough
OMD: Telegraph
Gilbert O'Sullivan: Alone Again
Jennifer Lopez: Come Over
The Attractions : Watching the detectives

I know I have got a negative edge, that’s why I sharpen all the others a lot.

Hey
This is kinda similar to the insanely great unknown artists thread.
Anyway, songs by cool "small" bands that are ace:
Nanzen Kills A Cat - The Van Pelt
Little League - Cap'n Jazz
Lets Make Winter A Driving Song - Cerberus Shoal
Toothfairy Retribution Manifesto - Rodan
Sharks & Sailors - June of '44
Check 'em out

I think 90% or more of the music I like would probably fall into this category, not because I only like one song but because you would never have heard most of it. In fact I can't really think of any artist that I only like one song of. Maybe its because I listen to albums so a good individual song won't necessarily register. Usually the elements of a good song will pervade teh artists other owrk to a greater or lesser extent, its just a matter of giving it a good enough chance.

Hmmmm there are probably quite a few from the 80s:
Ultravox - Vienna
Stranglers - Golden Brown
Moving Pictures - What about me? (f**k off Shannon)
Anything by Machinations.
(refuse to name only one)
Little Heros - One Perfect Day
Bruce Hornsby & The Range - The Way it is
Wendy Matthews - The Day you went away
The Church - Unguarded Moment
Probably a heap more if I thought about it for longer.
