The Repros are totally out of this world. (This is also a praise)

100% agree with OP.

yeah, i mostly just use repro synths in my stuff. the other synths i've tried just seem to lack … 'kick,' somehow.

actually one thing i use a LOT is tal sampler, but that's fundamentally a different process for generating sound.

Wow, I’m pretty similar. Repro, Tal sampler, but also Tal Mod. Has a Rolandish sound I like that I find compliments the Prophet sound.

U-He truly they make award winning synths.

Yeah, theres something different about the sound of u-he's products. The filters are one thing, but i find myself slightly disappointed when I use typically aggressive sounding things in other synths, like sync, fm/pm, phase distortion or certain oscillator effects. I dont want to go too deep into goofy buzzword territory but theres something weighty and substantial about the sound. In a way it reminds me of the physical modeling in AAS.

I also bought the unnamed synth with all the colorful moving lines. It sounds pretty good but it doesnt particularly fit into my workflow. It doesnt do "being a workhorse" anywhere near as well as Zebra or Avenger, nor VA as well as diva or repro.
