The difference is your not buying them, your just renting them.
Do they sound worse when they are rented and not owned? Yeah, of course I could try to sell all my plugins that I never used or not using anymore (and I have done this here at the marketplace), but the 2nd market value of plugins is really, really low. Which is one reason why I started to "invest" more in hardware again, and sometime this was really a good investment :)

What if I need to stop the subscription for a few months? I can no longer continue working on projects I started.

What if I decide to stop the description permanently? None of my old projects will open (the same as they did previously anyway).

But the second hand value will be excellent in the future. What once cost $29 will in the future cost $350 ;)

Can't believe which non issues bother people these days.
Yeah, well, what would we do without something to bitch about?
A well-behaved signature.

I don't find this scenario really likly in my case. And when this would be the case, I think not working on projects I started would be my least concern. And even then it's easy to bounce the tracks before the subscription stops.

When I tried this in the past (I think this wasn't more often then two or three times in the last 10 years) this already never worked. And I must say, I don't see this as a real problem, i'm not really interested in workig again on projects from the past.

I don't argue that subscription is a good solution for everyone, I just want to support the notion that for some people the subscription is a reasonable and good offer.

There's no doubt about that I think.
People were actually freaking out, because of the marketing, the overall pricing, disappointments after those bloomy promises and last but not least the shutdown of comments in the FB group.

Sure if it works for you then go for it. For me and my way of working it’s a no, even at $0.01 per month.

Start getting emails from PA about vouchers inviting subscription, and the discounts are getting larger. So in the record, firstly there was a Pick Pack scheme to get people on board, then Pick Pack members are getting monthly voucher. After a while, monthly vouchers stopped and suddenly no need to fulfill the remaining payment. Before members say hooray in joyful tears, here comes the truck of subscription model. No. I will wait until Back Friday and see how things further unfold themselves.
