While exploring a patch, when I disable the first oscillator by double-clicking on it, all other connections vanish. The same happens when disabling the other osc or the FM. Why is this so ? I do not see the logic behind this. The mixer does not have any special settings, not even the 'steal from' options. Why are some of these connections drawn in (not easily seen) blue ?

Is the blue line a carryover from MXXX that denotes a sidechain input?
I noticed that your 2,3,4 output lanes are muted. If you unmute the outputs for those lanes and are not stealing the input then the osc2 and FM lanes will output directly but no longer be routed to the mixer. (Because the mixer is no longer able to mix a muted lane?)
Could there be a mathematic reasoning here? Sidechaining to nothing?
I'm sure that I've done nothing but bring up more questions.

Yes, you are right. When the outputs are enabled then direct persistent lines are drawn.

White lines show primary input and output for modules, all the rest are blue. As for mixer it will sort of disable itself if it does not receive all the inputs that were set in its settings window.
So if you are trying to hear how it would sound with that generator disabled. Rather than disabling it, mute the input on the mixer.
