I still remember how amazing fruityloops 3.56 was to me. So much new stuff.
2019 is sad in comparison. Enjoy your ready made presets? No thanks.
No offense to presets enthusiasts.
KTHXBYE
And therefor it´s a godsend that you´ve got the choice out of about 1500 or more synths/samplers/modulars...etc...as VSTi´s which you can happily tweak to create your own patches...Daru925 wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2019 10:21 am ... That way people who use presets are happy, and people who like to create their own patches would be happy too.
Just a suggestion.
Nobody forces you to use that... I think a patch creator like you got already enough stuff to play with...
Because it's all about milking the expansion cow. You don't give away the entire cow for free, silly.Daru925 wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2019 10:21 am Yes, why not release a full version inside fl alongside sytrus and harmor, if flex is a real synth, and not just some nexus-like preset player? Why sad? - FL Studio 20.5 vs 3.56 the experience, there is only more of everything.Daru925 wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2019 11:07 am I still remember how amazing fruityloops 3.56 was to me. So much new stuff.

Isn't this like an (artistic) painter complaining they can't paint with the 32 colors provided in a box, unless they can custom tint every color in that pallet?imagination wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2019 4:17 pmBecause it's all about milking the expansion cow. So you're saying FLEX wasn't designed and created to be given away free, with the idea in mind to sell additional expansions?Image-Line wrote: Fri Jul 26, 2019 1:06 amIsn't this like an (artistic) painter complaining they can't paint with the 32 colors provided in a box, unless they can custom tint every color in that pallet?imagination wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2019 4:17 pmBecause it's all about milking the expansion cow. FLEX is just a box of (counting, as of 26 july ... ) 407 free colors and 449 paid ones.
BTW we don't "milk" our customers. They can choose to buy everything we make or just FL Studio and nothing extra. It's up to them, and there is no penalty in doing the latter. They still get Lifetime Free Updates and everything that includes, like FLEX including 407 free presets and more on the way.
Why do you give so much of a crap? Who the hell do you think you are to question what a company's motives for making a product are? You might want to do some research on what a "business" is, because it seems as if though your knowledge is kind of skewed on that subject. My advice to you would be to go get a life. It's getting really tired Mr. Entitled boy.imagination wrote: Fri Jul 26, 2019 2:30 amSo you're saying FLEX wasn't designed and created to be given away free, with the idea in mind to sell additional expansions?
The "gift" that keeps on giving?
It appears to be a contagious mentality and attitude too.THE INTRANCER wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2019 5:44 am There's one big thing that matters to me about DAW developers, and it's how they are able to accept criticism of the product they have or even that of the company.
Image Line, has been around for some 20 years, yet all I ever feel and see from them is, just a lack of self-confidence in their product and what people say about it...and are so quick to try and defend it as if there is something to defend.. and get embroiled in meaningless arguments about something irrelevant rather than the whole point of the topic as per earlier in this thread....
It's like, I've just gone back 30 years to high school all over again. It doesn't fill me with confidence about a product or to see a company or representative of a product do this...it just rings alarm bells..to what I might be thinking.
I guess this is the new business model for software synths? It's about as close as you can get to a subscription model without crossing the line?toddbooster wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2019 8:25 pm Aren't they going to be selling add-on packs for Flex? Isn't it more akin to giving the junkies a taste to hook them to open up a new revenue stream? The synth is free, but the content isn't, so it's business as usual really.
Give them a few good presets, a bunch of fillers and "B sides", then sell them more content at what seems to be a low cost, genius.
Oh wait, I didn't realize I was responding to Edward. Please ignore
I appreciate your honest feedback and opinion, but it has me thinking about what you've said. Why does a company feel the need to give away free updates for life? Is it because they don't feel their software warrants a paid upgrade? Does it not contain enough value every upgrade to be worth the money? Could it be because of the competition and it's the only way to attracted customers, that may not be able to afford upgrades? Such as, kids, teens and students just getting into the beatmaking game?Touch The Universe wrote: Fri Jul 26, 2019 4:41 am I appreciate the free updates and what they give and also wish well for there success so they may continue.
I use flstudio and like them as a company so I'm having a hard time understanding these other viewpoints/concerns. If you are the same, what's the deal?
