Hey, if that's your perception of them, then I guess it's locked in your mind. I'm gonna take a really good guess here that you've had a problem in the past with them? Judging by your description of them, I can see why right off the bat. Your skin might be slightly thin for that type of communication coming from a company. Having said that, I will say that I've never had that type of experience with them, and I've asked for help over the years on their forum and have lurked for years over there. The only episodes I've seen in the past, that match what you described, are users who wielded the almighty "sword of demand" and in their complete surprise, instead of being met by the developer, moderators, etc... bending over and splitting their "oh so supple cheeks" for said entitled tough guy, hidden internet user, who's money spent on FL-Studio is worth more than everyone else's, and entitles them to demand that Image-Line make their products exclusively according to how they see fit and custom tailor it to their specific needs and wants, they (Image-Line) either called bullshit, or actually tried to explain certain things in a way that did not align with what they (user) wanted to hear. Remember, it's their software, and they can do whatever they want. It's in the Eula. If you don't like it, you as a user have the right not to support them and use something else. Shouting off the rooftop about how bad they are, and shame on them for speaking up, isn't gonna change anything. It is what it is. Not saying specifically you, because I don't know your history, but there are those that do this for sport, and do it repeatedly across multiple forums.

At the end of the day, as long as they are helpful to those that are in real need of support in a timely fashion, that's all that matters. I've seen lots of that from them handed to those that showed a little bit of respect when requesting help and not throwing tantrums, cracking them over their heads with a baseball bat demanding features or changes that either were not planned, or were to be added in the future, but not fast enough for said user. Remember, you get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar man. You get what you give in this world, and I could care less about a user who gets stomped out for effed up behavior on a company support forum. It's disrespectful for other users that are part of the community as well. It has nothing to do with senseless bullying, or picking on innocent little swarthy people for no apparent reason other than to get some kind of joy. Trust me, I hate people who do shit like that more than you do. I've never seen them pick on somebody that didn't start them up.

No.

Common sense says that Scott is being a d..k. I'm not interested in this thread anymore, too many people acting with some kinda personal BS and not being reasonable. Over and OUT!

I am not aware that any other company actually talks to their customers. Here, I am talking the major DAW developers. And there is a good reason for that, (as you have seen me say earlier in this forum) it's always a losing situation with a proportion of people.

There is almost no way to interact honestly with customers and not offend some of them some of the time. Your comment about feeling demeaned is an example.

Yes gol was an 'ass' at times, but he was also the inventor and lead developer of the product (for 15 years) with a personality bordering on autistic savant. However, It has been my experience with all software developers you will get some level of anti-social behaviour when you pick on their work or ask for something that they don't see as logical. And that is why most companies shield customers from direct interaction with developers.

If you feel demeaned by something we said to you? Then you can respond to those people in the forum and thrash it out.

And I'm "thrashing"..

I've said repeatedly that I think you are doing a fantastic job on offering features and updates, but your bombastic response to some people is absurd.

Here's a thought, why not be interested in peoples POV and then act accordingly? Why do you constantly make those of us with the product feel awful for not agreeing with you all the time?

So what is an example of a bombastic response? You are using pejorative language here, so it would be nice to know what you perceive as such.

Why do you feel that an attempt to explain our perspective on issues, is an attempt to make you feel awful? And example would also be useful.

Ok. I see. Well, between me and you, yes, I will admit that they are the scum of the earth, and quite frankly, Scott probably steals money from old ladies, so he can feed his lust for very expensive handkerchiefs, and neckties. Gol is actually the hunchback of Notre Dame, who wrote FL-Studio specifically to bully and berate it's user base just for shits and giggles, and goes home and brags about it to his hordes of winged minions while eating raw buzzard meat and drinking used motor oil out of his golden chalise which he paid for with the billions of dollars that he bilked from his poor unsuspecting customers.

Am I being reasonable enough for you now?

Why are you picking on me? I haven't said or done anything wrong here. Fanboi's frustrate me, and now you are on my foe list for COMPLETELY misunderstanding me and being a general twit. :?

First of all, I'm not a fanboi. You hurt my feelings with that accusation and I'm going to cry right now.

Ok, I cried and now I feel better.

After your last post to Scott, It's clear now. What bothers you is that their communication comes off as arrogant to you, and you don't like that one bit. I can't speak for them in detail on that one because I'm not inside their head, but what I will tell you from past experience, and as Scott mentioned earlier, is that when people are personally attached to something, in this case it's a company that develops software which people have invested a huge amount of time and effort, if not a good portion of their lives, and then some person on the internet or persons on the internet casually, intentionally, whatever, cast any type of negativity towards their efforts, it's only human nature for them to disagree with that sort of thing no matter how small it may be. It's the nature of the beast. Is it right? Is it wrong? That's left to the individual to decide. There's no general answer. Their are developers that I literally hated for this, but that's just how it is. If their product is very good, I'll try to let it roll off of me because at the end of the day, the product is more important to me than their impeccable communication skills. In an ideal world, we can have it all. Unfortunately, this is not an ideal world. I'd rather hear it straight from the horses mouth, rather than some hired fake PR rep who delivers nothing but canned responses so as not to offend anyone. You gotta understand that you are not dealing with a huge corporate conglomerate, but instead, these are the people who are actually involved in the development of this stuff. I think it's safe to assume that they have emotions, just as you or I do. I'm going to try to stay out of this thread from here on in because for all I know, I'm the idiot who's talking out of my ass here, but this is my opinion and you are entitled to yours.

What an idiot. Sorry I read it.

Now, I'm seriously done with this idiotic thread. Carry on!

It's a fair summary.

For example, this just came in our ticketing:

"do you even understand that you are loosing so many customers because you are lazy as F**K! first of all, its very hard to understand how to install your f**king fl studio! why is there no video here with explanation of how to install the demo version or a video for the complete version of fl studio how to install it (which you buy) do you understand that its there must be an easier way to rich out to you! you lazy pigs! i was in love with fl studio, the interface is the best ever! but because you f***king idiots! are making it so complicated to install the software. I will make sure that more and more people will not use fl studio. you already lost so many customers now you will lose more! i will recommend other softwares which are easy to use "garage band, logic pro x" ;) good luck lazy weirdos! f**k you!"

It's quite crazy out there. We need better locks :) Now imagine a constant stream of this stuff coming at your staff from all over the internet.

Traditionally the response was - "Your input is important to us thank you for your suggestion. We have passed your feedback onto the development team for review". And everyone was happy and management reacted internally with colleagues.

But more seriously, as noted the reactions to stuff like this in social media, are traditionally kept inside the company. Although times have changed and it's more common to see company CEOs (even country presidents), etc speaking their minds in the face of criticism. In the past, people would trash talk just to those around them. Now the internet and social media have given those same people a platform broadcast their angst to the world.

There has to be a middle ground somewhere.

Aaand...EXPOSED! :hihi:

Seriously though, I think one should obviously not underestimate Fruityloops' importance in getting many people into music who otherwise would never had any relationship to music at all. It's a good thing and a bad thing simultaneously.

Gol was pretty autistic. And that's the reason why Fruityloops is so autistic compared to other DAW's and why it draws in so many autists.

It is what it is. That's what makes Fruityloops unique.

Since you're here, I might as well point you to an issue that some are also talking about in Looptalk as it concerns myself too.
Take look at this project https://github.com/Birch-san/juicysfplugin

Maybe you could get that guy to make a replacement for Fruity Soundfont Player? Or branch out the code. It sounds amazing, is 64bit and actually works properly with sf2 files unlike Directwave.
